Like his father, Porter wins with physicality! JPJ is the best press CB in this class, and if he puts the clamp on the WR at the LOS, he’s probably not going to get a shot to make the play. Porter is going to come up and lay the wood on a runner, too, and he’s constantly in the right spot. Porter can get beat down the field if the QB is given time, and he can get a little handsy in those situations, but he was only targeted three times per game last season because the offenses respected him so much. I have him third in this class, but in a deep class, he’s near the top.

Joey Porter Jr. 2023 NFL Draft Outlook

A cornerback with a favorable development trajectory and rare physical tools, he knows how to use his length to make life difficult for opposing receivers, whether at the line of scrimmage, through the route, or at the catch point. Moreover, his ability to locate the ball and get himself in position to make a play is impressive. Might be best for a team like the Seahawks, where his strengths would be accentuated. Has starting-caliber traits, although he’ll have to be careful to avoid being penalized often at the next level.
