Dynasty Rookie Draft Profile: Devon Witherspoon
Devon Witherspoon Dynasty Rookie Draft Outlook
Aggression! Witherspoon is going after the football every single chance he gets. He’s making the biggest hit he can, and he is trying to separate the ball carrier from the football every single time he makes a hit. There could be a few teams that don’t like that he’s under 6 feet tall and will try to push him to play the slot exclusively, but he’s way more experienced as a boundary option. Witherspoon can get beat over the top if he’s looking into the backfield at the QB too much, but he’s a willing tackler that will make plays on the ball. With the Rookie CB rule for IDP (they get thrown at more than veteran CBs), he should make an immediate impact in fantasy leagues.

Devon Witherspoon 2023 NFL Draft Outlook
Ultra-aggressive man-cover corner who brings an edge to the game and plays like his hair is on fire. That approach has served him well at Illinois, allowing him to break up a ton of passes and rack up some big hits this past season, but it’s possible that his lack of discipline may rub some coaches the wrong way and could allow some offenses to exploit him with effective play design. A high-risk, high-reward pick.
– Matthew Jones
