We are down to four teams, leaving our player pool extremely limited, so you are going to have to make some gross decisions on players you’d probably not start on a full slate. I’m not going to break everything down by position this time, there just aren’t enough players to do that. Instead, I’m breaking it into DraftKings and Fanduel and giving you a few flex punts to fill in your roster. None of these guys are particularly great options, but if you want to take down a tournament, you’re going to need to be different. Let’s get started…

2023 NFL Playoffs Conference Championships Betting Guide
NFL DFS Conference Championship Value Plays (2023)
DraftKings
Kadarius Toney (WR – KC) vs. CIN $3,700
Toney had seven targets and one carry last week against the Bengals, so clearly, the Chiefs want to get the ball in his hands. Toney, when healthy, has shown that he can be an explosive playmaker. None of the Chiefs receivers, outside of Kelce, truly have game-breaking ability like Toney, and, for his price, he is a good way to go cheap and be different than the masses.
Tyler Boyd (WR – CIN) @ KC $3,800
Boyd is the third wheel in this trio of great receivers and often gets overlooked — even by his own quarterback at times. Conference Championship games often have that unsung hero that no one saw coming, and Boyd can fill that role. He had a game earlier in the season where he caught eight passes for 155 yards and a TD, and even though Ja’Marr Chase was out for that game, it just goes to show you that he has the ability to do it. Similar to Toney, at his price, he will be lower owned, and this is a good way to get different.
Quez Watkins (WR – PHI) vs. SF $3,100
If you truly want to swing for the fences, Watkins is your home run hitter. The 49ers’ defense is the best in the league, but their one weakness is with the deep ball. Granted, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are also very good at getting deep, but Watkins could be involved in some type of trick play where they try to get him behind the defense. At $3,100, he truly represents a shot in the dark, but on a two-game slate, you have to take some shots.
Hayden Hurst (TE – CIN) @ KC $3,000
This price just feels too low for a guy that has five or more targets in four of his last five games, including last week when he scored his first touchdown since Week 5. Many people will be paying up for Travis Kelce or George Kittle, punting Hurst might give you enough salary to afford another stud WR.
FanDuel
Elijah Mitchell (RB – SF) @ PHI $5,600
There is some question about his availability for the game; however, if he plays, he can be a huge factor. As a 49er fan, I watched last week’s game against the Cowboys, and I was screaming at the TV for the 49ers to stop running the ball outside the numbers. The Cowboys’ defense was just too fast sideline-to-sideline for it to work. They finally listened to me in the second half and started running at them and not away from them using Elijah Mitchell — and lo-and-behold, he averaged over five yards per carry.
Why am I telling you this? Because Philly is built similarly up front as the Cowboys, and it’s hard to run around them, you have to run at them as the Commanders did in handing the Eagles their first loss of the season. In that game, Brian Robinson had 26 carries, and even though he only went for 86 yards on those carries, it kept that devastating pass rush at bay. If Mitchell is active, that will be his role, pound the rock inside over and over again and slow that pass rush to set up the play action.
Jauan Jennings (WR – SF) @ PHI $4,900
Two homer picks in a row, but Jennings is a very underrated part of the 49ers’ offense. He doesn’t catch a ton of passes and, quite frankly, is used more to block on the outside than he is to run routes. But, the catches Jennings does make always seem to be of the huge variety, a key first down to keep a drive alive or finding the end zone like he did last year in a pivotal game against the Rams to get into the playoffs or this year in New Orleans. where he caught and scored the only TD in the entire game for either team. This seems like it could be one of those games when the unsung player that gets no love in the media makes a huge touchdown catch.
Samaje Perine (RB – CIN) @ KC $5,300
Joe Mixon was awesome last week against the Bills gouging them for huge gain after huge gain, but, lost in all that, Perine quietly had 12 total touches. Now, 12 doesn’t seem like a ton of touches, but on a two-game slate, you’re looking for that unexpected touchdown scorer, and Perine fits the bill. Perine filled in for Mixon in Week 13 when they played the Chiefs, and he averaged five yards per carry and scored a touchdown.
