Tonight’s action will take on a much different dynamic than Friday night’s, as we only have four contests to deal with as opposed to the 11-game mayhem last night. It’s looking like there are still multiple ways to build, so let’s see what we can build. Be sure to follow me @jac3600 for more DFS insight!

NBA DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Primer: January 7, 2023
TOP PLAY
LeBron James (LAL): $10,700 DK/$11,400 FD
On FanDuel it probably makes more sense to just get up to Luka Doncic, but James offers a tremendous discount at 2k less on DK. The biggest issue for LeBron is whether or not he plays, as it’s the second game of a back-to-back tonight. This Lakers/Kings game is fantasy gold, as it sports an O/U of 243.5 with two teams that are both totop-fiven pace factor. In the nine games Anthony Davis has missed, LeBron has stepped up with a 34.9% usage rate, 21.9% rebound rate, and 35.7% assist rate. Sacramento is also 25th in team defense and allows to second most FPPG to forwards.

CASH PICKS
De’Aaron Fox (SAC): $8600 DK/$8600 FD
The Sacramento side of this game is fully attackable as well. Domantas Sabonis has taken over as the top option offensively for the surprisingly good Kings, but Fox is still a solid 1A. He’s played 36 minutes or more in five straight games and is averaging 27.2 PPG in that span. The Lakers are third in pace and have fallen to 21st in overall defensive efficiency (29th in the nine games Anthony Davis has missed). Fire Fox up in all formats.
Nikola Vucevic (CHI): $7500 DK/$7600 FD
The Bulls are another team on the second leg of a B2B, but they’re in a tremendous spot against a Utah team that has completely forgotten how to play defense. The Jazz are sixth in pace and 27th in defensive efficiency, and have been hemorrhaging points underneath. They’ve allowed the second most FPPG to opposing centers and the most putback opportunities. Vucevic has four straight double-doubles and just put up 65.5 DK points against the Embiid-less Sixers.
Other options: Zach LaVine, Russell Westbrook (if LeBron sits), Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter, Thomas Bryant
VALUE PLAY
Dennis Schroder (LAL): $5700 DK/$5900 FD
Schroder is generally not an exciting play by any means, but he’s technically the number two scoring option on the Lakers’ starters behind LeBron. With injuries to the other Laker players, Schroder has played 35, 32, 37, 40, and 35 minutes. This LAL/SAC game is one we’re fully attacking. Schroder even flashed a ceiling recently, popping in 49.5 DK points against the Heat.
Ayo Dosunmu (CHI): $4100 DK/$5400 FD
This is a DK-specific play, but Dosunmu is cheap enough there that he opens up a world of possibilities to rostering LeBron and Doncic. Ayo is a low-usage player that won’t offer you a GPP ceiling, but he’s played over 32 minutes in four straight games and gets a prime offensive matchup against the Jazz. Another plus – Utah is fourth in the league in turnover rate over the past month, and Ayo offers steal upside (more valuable on FD at three points per)
Other options: Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, Malik Beasley, Naji Marshall, Patrick Williams
