Monkey Knife Fight Advice: Wild Card Weekend (2022 Fantasy Football)

Welcome to Monkey Knife Fight. Monkey Knife Fight is one of the more intriguing entrants in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based contests, Monkey Knife Fight allows DFS players to put their fantasy football knowledge and predictive powers to the test.

They offer fantasy point and stat-based contests. Perhaps the most appealing of all of their offerings is the ‘More or Less’ contests. In these contests, you can choose whether a player will fall above or below totals for a preset combination of two to 10 players. Your win probability obviously goes down with the more players you add, but you receive an increased payout multiplier in exchange.

Since Monkey Knife Fight’s fantasy point and stat-based totals are dynamic, meaning the total, total type, and pairings change throughout the week, it is important to search for favorable and advantageous total pairings to exploit on a daily basis. Ideally, when choosing a total pairing, you want to feel extremely confident on one of the totals and feel strongly enough about the other total to proceed. This week we will take a look at two of the ‘More’ options that stood out the most for Wild Card Weekend. Note that these are not locked in pairings, and may no longer be offered by the time you log in to make your picks.

Plays of the week

Keenan Allen (WR – LAC): 6.5 receptions

The top offering on the Saturday slate is Keenan Allen receptions. The number is identical to what can be found on the market, at least for now. The vig movement suggests that the number could be moved to seven even by game time, so this is an excellent value all fantasy gamers should be looking to punch in for Saturday. Keenan has hauled in eight or more passes in four of his last five games, and barring an uncharacteristically low efficiency night, he will hit at least seven against a beatable Jaguars secondary. Keenan is averaging 6.6 receptions per game on the season, but that number is skewed by the two games he left early due to injury. If we just count the games he was able to finish, that number jumps to 7.5 per game. Lock the More on Keenan in for your Saturday contests for Wild Card weekend at MonkeyKnifeFight.
Prediction: More

J.K. Dobbins (RB – BAL): 62.5 rushing yards

J.K. Dobbins hasn’t quite returned to his pre-injury form yet but has still looked like one of the best young running backs in the league since returning in Week 14. Dobbins has rushed for 93 or more rushing yards in three of his last four contests and has done so despite seeing fewer than 50 percent of the snaps in each of those outings. Averaging 99.25 rushing yards per game over that stretch, the 62.5 rushing yard line is one of the standouts of the weekend. The number is lower at 59.5 on the market, which suggests that the line has been set a bit higher here to mitigate some risk for MonkeyKnifeFight. Regardless, with Dobbins on a tear and our projection of 68.7 rushing yards, there is nothing not to like about the More on Dobbins. There are, of course, some gamescript concerns, but Dobbins actually averaged more rushing yards in the two losses in that four game stretch than he did in the victories. Tap the More on Dobbins for Wild Card weekend.
