Monkey Knife Fight Advice: Divisional Round (2022 Fantasy Football)

Welcome to Monkey Knife Fight. Monkey Knife Fight is one of the more intriguing entrants in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based contests, Monkey Knife Fight allows DFS players to put their fantasy football knowledge and predictive powers to the test.

They offer fantasy point and stat-based contests. Perhaps the most appealing of all of their offerings is the ‘More or Less’ contests. In these contests, you can choose whether a player will fall above or below totals for a preset combination of two to 10 players. Your win probability obviously goes down with the more players you add, but you receive an increased payout multiplier in exchange.

Since Monkey Knife Fight’s fantasy point and stat-based totals are dynamic, meaning the total, total type, and pairings change throughout the week, it is important to search for favorable and advantageous total pairings to exploit on a daily basis. Ideally, when choosing a total pairing, you want to feel extremely confident on one of the totals and feel strongly enough about the other total to proceed. This week we will take a look at two of the ‘More’ options that stood out the most for the Divisional Round. Note that these are not locked in pairings, and may no longer be offered by the time you log in to make your picks.

Plays of the week

Brandon Aiyuk (WR – SF): 50.5 receiving yards

Brandon Aiyuk looks like the top offering on the Sunday slate. Aiyuk has averaged 59.7 receiving yards per game this season and comes into this contest playing some of his most consistent football of the season. Aiyuk has topped 51 receiving yards in each of his last four games and has an excellent opportunity to do so once again this weekend. Like all of the 49ers’ playmakers, Aiyuk is a massive threat after the catch and, as such, remains a strong play even with Brock Purdy under center. Aiyuk is seeing a noticeable decline in target percentage with Deebo Samuel back on the field, but with Trevon Diggs likely to spend some time on Deebo and maybe even George Kittle, Aiyuk is going to see some high-quality targets against the likes of DaRon Bland and Nahshon Wright. Yes, the More hitting seems to be dependent on some impressive yac, but with Aiyuk being one of the best in the league in that regard, that should not be a major concern. And with the total listed higher at 53.5 on the market and our projection sitting at 56.4, this stands out as an immediate value even without deep analysis. Punch in the More on Aiyuk for the Sunday slate at MonkeyKnifeFight.
Prediction: More

Miles Sanders (RB – PHI): 65.5 rushing yards

Miles Sanders has been a boom-or-bust proposition this season but still managed to rush for 1,249 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has been held under 66 rushing yards in more than half of his games (9/17) and frequently loses touches to elite running quarterback Jalen Hurts. With that said, the Giants look like the type of opponent the Eagles will be able to feed him against. Yes, the emergence of Daniel Jones and Isaiah Hodgins has made the Giants more than just a Wink Martindale defensive team, but they are going to have a hard time keeping pace with a motivated Eagles squad. These two teams faced off twice this season, with the last meeting coming in Week 18 when the Giants decided to rest all of their key starters and the Eagles pulled key players early. The Week 14 meeting was a 48-22 beatdown in which Sanders rushed for a season-high 144 rushing yards and two touchdowns on a robust 8.67 yards per carry. Philadelphia should have gamescript on their side again this week, and as always, Sanders is one carry away from making light work of the 65.5 total. This is one of the rare MonkeyKnifeFight offerings whose numbers mirror what we see on the market, and with a projection of 70 rushing yards from our player prop tool, this has all the indicators of a strong value.
