Tony Pollard has had a solid fantasy season in 2022 but has not produced at his typical level the past two weeks. He faces the Titans in Week 17, and they boast the second-rated rush defense (by DVOA) in the NFL. On top of the difficult matchup, Pollard popped up on the injury report with a thigh injury on Monday and did not practice on Tuesday. With fantasy managers needing every edge in what is commonly Championship Week, the question is: Will Tony Pollard play in Week 17? Despite some reports Tuesday morning that Pollard was expected to practice, he instead remained sidelined. With the Cowboys playing Tennessee on Thursday, Pollard will have to at least log a limited practice on Wednesday. Otherwise, Ezekiel Elliott could be an RB1 play this week.

What the Experts are Saying
Pollard is the RB7 in fantasy points per game. With Elliott mixing in since Week 12, he’s averaged 17.2 touches and 83 total yards with only one week lower than RB17. Pollard has become a weekly staple in the passing game, with at least five targets in each of his last three games. This will help him immensely as teams have “run through the air” with their backs against this defense. Tennessee has given up the fourth-most receptions and 13th-most receiving yards to running backs. Pollard is 15th in target share, second in yards per reception, and third in yards per route run among backs. He’s also excelled as a rusher, ranking 14th in evaded tackles, sixth in yards per touch, and third in breakaway run rate. Pollard is an RB2.
