Will Justin Fields Play in Week 13? (2022 Fantasy Football)

Justin Fields finished as a QB1 every game from Week 6 to Week 11 when he sustained a dislocated shoulder that kept him out of Week 12’s loss to the Jets. As a rushing quarterback, Fields has been fantasy gold for managers who rostered him. After being a limited participant in practice leading up to their intra-division showdown with the rival Packers, he did not appear on the injury report on Friday. So now the question is: If he plays, is he a good option in Week 13? Here is what we know.

Justin Fields off injury report, set to play Week 13

According to PFF’s Ari Meirov, QB Justin Fields is off the Chicago Bears’ injury report and is set to start for Week 13’s matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Impact

Fields was able to log a full practice on Thursday as he recovers from a shoulder injury that kept him out of Week 12’s contest. Fields seems to be better off than he was before and carries no injury designation against the Packers. With another full practice under his belt, a healthy Fields garners immediate consideration as a starter with his rushing upside.

What the Experts are Saying

Fields practiced in full on Thursday and Friday. He’ll be under center this week for the Bears. Fields is the QB6 in fantasy points per game. Since Week 7, he’s 15th in big-time throw rate and 19th in yards per attempt. Fields is first in fantasy points per dropback, first in rushing yards, and second in rushing touchdowns. Green Bay is 21st in success rate per dropback, 21st in EPA per drop back, and 15th in passing yards per game. Fields returns to his top-five status among fantasy quarterbacks.

Fields looks ready to play. Non-throwing shoulder AC joint injuries don’t show any negative performance impact in our data. Look for him to be a little less aggressive about taking hits as a runner, but this injury wouldn’t prevent us from starting him in Week 13.
