Amari Cooper finished as the overall WR2 in Week 11 against Buffalo, but he is dealing with a hip injury sustained in last week’s matchup against Houston. He may need some time to build chemistry with Deshaun Watson, but he would be a solid weapon for the Browns’ Week 14 matchup against the Bengals if he is healthy. So will Amari Cooper play in Week 14? Here’s what we know.

Amari Cooper (hip) listed as questionable for Week 14
Amari Cooper (hip) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
Fantasy Impact
Cooper did not participate in practice for the Browns Friday. The hip injury has caused Cooper to miss some practice time this week, but the team still believes he has a chance to play Sunday. Fantasy managers will want to keep an eye out on the 1pm inactive list for the Browns.

What the Experts Are Saying
Cooper has been a target hog this season, but last week with Watson took it to another level. Cooper had a 42.9% target share, end zone targets for the wide receiver room, and a 56.9% air-yard share. This is elite usage. Cooper is the WR15 in fantasy with a 27.5% target share (12th) and 40.5% air-yard share (third) this season. He’s seventh in deep targets and 16th in red zone targets among wide receivers. Cooper is 11th in PFF receiving grade and 18th in yards per route run (minimum 25 targets). Cooper is a WR2 that will run about 74% of his routes against Cam Taylor-Britt (76.2% catch rate, 121.9 passer rating) and Eli Apple (56.3% catch rate, 95.6 passer rating). Cooper popped up on the injury report with a hip issue. He was limited on Thursday and then a DNP on Friday. He’s been listed as questionable. If he’s out, it bumps up Peoples-Jones target projection making him a high-end WR3.

TBD. Thursday additions to the weekly injury report cause missed games at relatively high rates. We’d therefore lean slightly towards Cooper sitting.
