Quarterbacks
DraftKings
Daniel Jones (NYG) $5600 vs. MIN
Here is a little secret not too many people seem to be talking about, Daniel Jones is the current QB11 this season. That’s right, Danny freakin’ dimes snuck into QB1 territory. He is averaging a very serviceable 17.5 DK points per game and retains both floor and upside with his rushing ability. He has 17 combined touchdowns to his four interceptions, marking some improvement from previous seasons.

This is where it gets juicy. The Giants travel to Minnesota for a date with a Vikings defense which has been especially giving this holiday season. They have allowed 300-plus passing yards eight times this season, including three of the last four games. In five of their last eight games, they have allowed multiple passing touchdowns.
Full disclosure, the Vikings have done well with interceptions, averaging .9 picks per game. Jones’ rushing ability can help erase an errant throw, assuming he doesn’t channel his inner Eli Manning and throw a couple of them. The matchup is good, Jones maintains a safe floor for production, and the price is worth the potential return. This is better suited as a GPP play than cash but can be constructed to work in both.
FanDuel
Gardner Minshew (PHI) $6100 vs. DAL
Minshew mania, a tradition like no other. In his two starts last season, Minshew finished as the QB10 and the QB17 respectively. In those two games, he accumulated 428 passing yards and four touchdowns with only one interception.
There will be players that simply overlook Minshew based on a tough matchup against the Cowboys. The Eagles offensive line is one of the best the NFL has to offer and Minshew has a stable of weapons to choose from and is mobile enough to extend some plays.
For the cost, Minshew has excellent value potential paired with a low expected roster percentage.
Running Backs
DraftKings
Jerick McKinnon (KC) $5900 vs. SEA
Jet Mckinnon is the overall RB1 over the last two weeks. Just when we thought he could not repeat his blow-up in week 14, he does it again. McKinnon has dealt most of his damage as a pass catcher, making him an ideal target in PPR formats, which DraftKing utilizes. He has 182 receiving yards on 17 targets during that span and four combined touchdowns.
This week, the Chiefs draw the Seahawks, who have been scrappy up to a week ago. While a tougher matchup for receivers, Seattle has been much easier to run on, making Isiah Pacheco ($5700) a decent pivot as well. The Seahawks are allowing an average of 121.7 rushing yards and 47.9 receiving yards to the running back position.
It remains difficult to pencil McKinnon in for the type of production he has had over the last two games since game script can alter his involvement. Facing the league’s second-most friendly defense for the position, getting crazy and constructing a lineup with both Pacheco and McKinnon is not as loony as it initially sounds.
FanDuel
J.K. Dobbins (BAL) $7000 vs. ATL
Since returning from injured reserve, Dobbins has produced back-to-back 100-plus yard games. Lamar Jackson has been ruled out for this week’s contest and Tyler Huntley has struggled to move the offense through the air. In fact, Huntley has yet to throw a touchdown and is completing less than 60% of his passes. That sets up the offensive game plan to once again revolve around the run game.
The Falcons defense is one of the better opponents to establish the run against. They are allowing 103.9 rushing yards on a per-contest average. The Ravens deploy a double-barrel running back approach with a quarterback who is also prone to carrying the football. Expect that trend to continue in this game and Dobbins to carry the majority of that workload.
Wide Receivers
DraftKings
D.J. Moore (CAR) $5500 vs. DET
D.J. Moore has become whatever the inverse of a muse is for me. When I talk about him, he flops like Crystal Pepsi. When he is benched, he has 70+ yards and a score by halftime. So make sure this additional information is taken into consideration before locking a lineup down.
In his three games with Sam Darnold under center, D.J. Moore has 15 targets, 176 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. While disappointing on a seasonal, week-to-week basis, Moore has finally surpassed four touchdowns during the course of a season.
This week, the Panthers face a Detroit Lions defense that is allowing the most fantasy points to quarterbacks and the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. With the Lions proclivity to score points, Darnold will most likely have to ramp up the passing attempts, making Moore the most likely beneficiary.
FanDuel
Marquise Goodwin (SEA) $5800 vs. KC
Tyler Lockett suffered a broken hand last week and will be out for at least this game. This will put Goodwin, who has already been operating as the WR3 for the Seahawks, in line for a bump in targets. Before the Lockett injury, Goodwin was maintaining a 16.7% red zone target share, converting two of them for touchdowns. Despite his age, Goodwin still has wheels and will get behind the Chiefs secondary a time or two.
The Chiefs are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to receivers and an average of 157.2 receiving yards per contest. Make no mistake, D.K. Metcalf is going to act as the primary read and Ken Walker is also expected to return to action this week.
For the cost, Goodwin has upside and an expected elevated role in a matchup in which the Seahawks should be trailing.
Tight Ends
DraftKings
Dallas Goedert (PHI) $4500 vs. DAL
This is intended to be more of a contrarian type of play based on a slate of awful matchups or typically unproductive tight ends. There is a method to the madness here.
Dallas Goedert has been activated from injured reserve and is expected to return to the starting lineup this week. By all reports, he was close to being able to return last week, so the expectation of close to a full workload is present. Despite missing the last five games, Goedert is TE13 on the season and TE3 on a fantasy points-per-game average.
The Cowboys defense has played well against pass catchers this season and the Eagles are going to be playing without Jalen Hurts.
A lot of people will be off of Goedert for all the reasons mentioned, keeping his roster percentage low. With the bulk of defensive attention expected to be between A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Goedert could find himself facing softer coverage. Minshew is a capable quarterback who put up 18 and 14 points in his two starts last season.
It is a swing for the fences but has the potential for one of the better returns on cost for this slate.
FanDuel
Taysom Hill (NO) $6500 vs. CLE
Chris Olave has already been ruled out for this game. Jarvis Landry has been placed on injured reserve. That leaves Marquez Callaway and Rahid Shaheed as the primary receivers. We should see another healthy dose of Alvin Kamara this week, but the real beneficiary in this particular set of circumstances is Taysom Hill. The Saints jack-of-all-trades deployment of Hill renders him volatile most weeks but a screaming value in others.
The Browns defense is more susceptible to the run so expect Kamara to lead the charge but also be aware that Hill will have some running packages this week as well. With his ability to score points throwing, catching, and rushing the football, this is a week to put him into some lineups. This play only works on FanDuel as DraftKings still has Hill listed as a quarterback.
There is risk with this play, but there is also serious upside.
