The holidays are almost here, and Santa decided to give us the worst weather across the entire slate that I can ever remember. So now, we must navigate the stats, game scripts, and the weather. Therefore, stacking the right games will make or break our lineups this week. So let us help you reach the cash-out promise land this week with our stacking options below.
Daniel Jones + Darius Slayton + Justin Jefferson (QB + WR – NYG/ WR – MIN)
Due to the weather, this slate has severely limited my quarterback options for the week. So much so that if I am not paying up for Patrick Mahomes, I’ll pay down for someone like Daniel Jones. Jones allows us the shot at the Konami Code we cherish so much as fantasy players. He faces a Vikings defense that ranks 27th in passing DVOA and is bleeding passing yards to opposing quarterbacks. They allow the second-most yards to the quarterback position and the sixth-highest fantasy points per game (FPPG) to quarterbacks this year.
The pairing that has the highest ceiling with Daniel Jones is Darius Slayton. The Giants need help with keeping their wide receivers on the field. However, Slayton has a chance to explode within this game. The Vikings allow 9.1 yards per attempt to wide receivers who line up on the outside. With this game being in a dome and safe from the weather, the Giants can push the pace and sling the rock all game long.
The easiest bring-back in NFL history is Justin Jefferson. Yes, he is expensive. Yes, he probably will be used by a lot of people. However, the Giants’ defense is decimated by injuries, especially within their defensive backroom. Jefferson, with a healthy defense, can still explode, now you give him this opportunity, and we can see the sparks fly this weekend.
Alvin Kamara + New Orleans Saints Def (RB + D/ST – NO)
The weather in this game screams avoid the passing game as the OU of this game sits at 32 on most betting sites. The wind gust could shoot to 48 mph and should sit at sustained levels of 20+mph. We also don’t have Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry playing in this game for the New Orleans Saints. all of this means one thing, we have to lean on Alvin Kamara. Kamara totaled 20 carries last week, and he faces Cleveland’s run funnel defense this week. The Browns rushing DVOA is 30th in the NFL, allowing the third-most FPPG on DFS sites.
As for the defensive play in this stack, it is pretty simple. Compared to normal, we have a terrible weather game, keeping total points and passing opportunities down. We also have a quarterback in Deshaun Watson, who needs more time to be a good starting quarterback this season. Nevertheless, we have a chance here for sacks, pressures, and turnovers, which we should always target.
Sam Darnold + D.J. Moore (QB + WR – CAR)
Sam Darnold is my low-usage play this week. His rostership should be relatively low, yet he faces a passing defense in the Detroit Lions that sits at 22nd in passing DVOA. The Panthers have committed to the run, but if you want to zig when others zag, this is the play.
Regardless if you stack with D.J. Moore or use him naked in your lineup, you should receive dividends for being brave with him this week. The Lions need help covering the slot, and since Sam Darnold has returned to the starting quarterback position, Moore has lined up in the slot 68% of the time. Moore is a talented receiver who has seen more than six targets in every game but one. This could be the boom potential game we have been waiting for from Moore.
