Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Matthew Stafford placed on injured reserve Saturday

The Rams placed Matthew Stafford on injured reserve Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Stafford would be eligible to return in Week 17, but the Rams will likely have the veteran sit out the rest of the season. John Wolford will likely serve as the Rams’ starting quarterback for the remainder of the season. Fantasy managers should downgrade the Rams’ pass catchers for the remainder of the season.

Leonard Fournette (hip) officially questionable to play Monday

Leonard Fournette (hip) is officially listed as questionable to play in Monday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Impact

Fournette had to miss Week 12’s game due to a hip injury, and his availability for Week 13 is also up in the air. He was able to practice in full all week, so there’s a lot of optimism surrounding his status for Monday. If he plays, that will mean less work for rookie Rachaad White, who took over the backfield in his absence last week.

Jameson Williams (knee) activated; to make debut Sunday

Jameson Williams (knee) has been activated and will make his NFL debut in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Impact

Williams, a first-round pick in this year’s draft, has missed the entire season so far in his recovery from a torn ACL. He’s been activated ahead of Sunday’s game, however, and he’s set to make his NFL debut against the Jaguars. His presence will be a big boost for Detroit’s offense, but it could be a couple of weeks before we see him get truly unleashed.

Courtland Sutton (illness) ‘optimistic’ he will play in Week 13

Courtland Sutton felt better on Saturday and is optimistic he’ll play on Sunday against the Ravens.

Fantasy Impact

Sutton was a late addition to the injury report on Friday due to an illness. It sounds like there is a good chance he plays on Sunday barring a late setback. Sutton has caught at least five passes for 66 yards in three straight weeks.
