Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Deebo Samuel likely sprained ankle
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that WR Deebo Samuel’s injury was “most likely” a high-ankle sprain, dodging a more serious injury.
Fantasy Impact
Samuel left Week 14 prematurely with an apparent leg injury that seems to be an ankle injury. Early thoughts are a high-ankle sprain, though the situation should remain monitored, but he likely dodged anything season-ending. Samuel could miss a couple weeks, but more details should come soon.
Tyler Boyd (finger) likely week-to-week
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, WR Tyler Boyd is expected to be week-to-week with a finger injury that is not believed to be a long-term concern.
Fantasy Impact
Boyd left Week 14’s game early with a finger injury and was ruled out to return. However, Boyd may not miss too much time. In his absence, WR Trent Taylor will likely see work from the slot.
Brock Purdy suffers oblique injury in win
Brock Purdy suffered an oblique injury during Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to HC Kyle Shanahan.
Fantasy Impact
Shanahan said after the game that Purdy sustained some kind of an oblique injury during the win, and the severity of it is currently unknown. He left during the fourth quarter of the game, but that was due to the score and not a result of his injury. The 49ers have a short turnaround for this week, and fantasy managers should pay attention to the rookie’s status in the coming days.
Jeff Wilson Jr. (hip) won’t return Sunday
Jeff Wilson Jr. (hip) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Fantasy Impact
Wilson had to get carted to the locker room after sustaining a hip injury in the first half of Sunday night’s game. We don’t know much about the severity of his injury yet, but he’s been ruled out for the remainder of the game. He will finish with 26 yards on the night, and Raheem Mostert will likely be the next man up in Miami’s backfield.
