Ja’Marr Chase finished as the top WR in Weeks 6 and 7 before exiting the game late with a hip injury that kept him out of three games. Fantasy managers trying to secure a playoff spot in their leagues would certainly love to have their WR1 back for the Bengals’ matchup against Tennessee. (Fantasy managers with Joe Burrow feel much the same way.) Will Ja’Marr Chase play in Week 12? And, if he does, what kind of performance can we expect? Here’s what we know.

Ja’Marr Chase (hip) listed as questionable for Week 12
Star WR Ja’Marr Chase has been listed as questionable ahead of the Bengals’ Week 12 matchup with the Titans.
Fantasy Impact
Chase has been working his way back from a hip injury and is practicing in a limited capacity. Previous reports and coach speak suggested that the team expects him to return against the Titans on Sunday. Were that to be the case, Chase will immediately slide back in as a fantasy WR1 even if his snaps are somewhat limited.

What the Experts Are Saying
Chase practiced in a limited fashion all week and has been listed as questionable. Taylor has been coy about Chase’s projected snap count. Currently I think he will either be on a pitch count or out this week. Chase is the WR7 in fantasy that has commanded a 27.7% target share (12th) and 34.5% air yard share (16th). HIs usage has been fantastic with eight deep targets in his seven games played and 14 red zone targets which still ranks fourth among wide receivers. Even a limited Chase would still be a low-end WR2 capable of taking any target to the house. If he plays he’ll run about 72% of his routes against Fulton and Avery.

TBD. Lean towards playing. We wouldn’t bank on 100% of the pre-injury form immediately, but we do plan to start Chase if active. Our data predict a return to full production by Week 13 or 14.

Ja’Marr Chase looks like he is going to play this week, he should be a WR1 against the Titans 30th ranked WR defense.
