I’d like to formally apologize for suggesting Wan’Dale Robinson last week. Some of my other plays panned out, namely Justin Fields and Tony Pollard, but they were overshadowed by Robinsons’ lackluster effort. I still had a good week overall nailing Terry McLaurin, DJ Moore, and Khalil Herbert, so let’s hope I can continue that success in Week 9…

Quarterbacks
DraftKings
Justin Fields (QB – CHI) vs. MIA $5,300
Fields has put up at least 24 DK points in his last two games; one against the sixth-ranked DVOA defense, the Patriots; and the other against the No.1 rank DVOA defense in the Dallas Cowboys. This week he gets the 25th-ranked Dolphins’ defense that gives up the seventh most rushing yards to quarterbacks on the season. DraftKings’ pricing of Fields is downright disrespectful. For comparison’s sake, Fields is the eighth highest-priced quarterback on Fanduel, but only the 15th highest on Draftkings.
Others to Consider: Marcus Mariota (ATL) $5,300, Trevor Lawrence (JAX) $5,200
FanDuel
Marcus Mariota (QB – ATL) vs. LAC $7,100
Mariota has scored over 24 FD points in two of his last three games. He gives you a solid floor with his rushing ability, rushing for 40 or more yards in three of his last four games, and he is coming off a season-high 253 passing yards with three touchdowns. The Chargers are ranked as the 23rd rush DVOA defense on the season.
Others to Consider: Trevor Lawrence (JAX) $6,800, Jared Goff (DET) $7,100
Running Backs
DraftKings
Deon Jackson (RB – IND) @ NE $5,200
With Jonathan Taylor still not practicing and the trade that sent Nyhiem Hines to the Bills, it looks like Jackson could get the start this week against the Patriots. The Patriots give up the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs, however, they give up the ninth-most receiving yards to the position — something that Jackson excels at. In Week 6, he had 10 catches for 79 yards, and as the potential “last man standing” in that backfield, so he could see similar volume in this game.
Others to Consider: Khalil Herbert (CHI) $5,800, D’Onta Foreman (CHI) $6,000
FanDuel
Deon Jackson (RB – IND) @ NE $5,000
It’s not often I list the same player for both Draftkings and Fanduel, but I didn’t find a lot of value on Fanduel that I really liked — outside of Jackson. If you’re playing on Fanduel, read above for why I like him this week.
Wide Receivers
DraftKings
Josh Palmer (WR – LAC) @ ATL $5,100
With Mike Williams already ruled out and Keenan Allen looking closer to doubtful than questionable, Palmer should step into a huge role this week. The Falcons are the 30th-ranked DVOA pass defense and give up the most fantasy points to wide receivers on the season. At $5,100, Palmer could be the chalk if Allen is indeed ruled out.
Others to Consider: DJ Moore (CAR) $5,800, DeAndre Carter (LAC) $4,300
FanDuel
Curtis Samuel (WR – WAS) vs. MIN $5,600
After a hot start to the season, Samuel has cooled off over the last few weeks, but a matchup with the Vikings, the 22nd-ranked pass defense, could change that. The Vikings give up the seventh-most fantasy points and fifth-most receptions per game to wide receivers on the season.
Others to Consider: DeAndre Carter (LAC) $5,500, Kj Osborn (MIN) $5,300
Tight Ends
DraftKings
Foster Moreau (TE – LV) @ JAX $3,200
Darren Waller has been limited all week in practice and could very well make his return this week, but if for some reason Waller is out, Moreau once again becomes a good value at tight end. The Jags ranked 21st in pass DVOA on the season, and this game has a respectable 47.5 game total.
Others to Consider: Cade Otton (TB) $3,100
FanDuel
Evan Engram (TE – JAX) vs. LV $5,200
After four straight games with at least six targets, including a 10-target game against the Texans in Week 5, Engram has started to salvage his career in Jacksonville. The Raiders are the 31st-ranked pass defense and they give up the third-most fantasy points to tight ends. He caught his first touchdown of the season last week and will look to make it two weeks in a row against the Raiders at home.
