Mojo Market Advice: Buy & Sell (Week 10)

Mojo Market Advice: Buy & Sell (Week 10)

After suggesting that you add Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields to your Mojo portfolio last week, his stock price rose 7.0% after a record-setting performance. Fields became the first quarterback to throw three touchdowns and run for 140+ yards. Elsewhere, many of the game’s best wide receivers, Cooper Kupp (+1.3%), Justin Jefferson (+1.4%), Tyreek Hill (+2.1%), and Davante Adams (+2.1%) all saw their stock increase after turning in 100-yard performances with at least one touchdown.

We will offer a handful of NFL players each week to buy low on (whether short-term or long-term) or sell high before their prices tumble.

Here is our Week 10 version of who to buy and sell (all prices reflect Mojo’s market)

BUY

Cole Kmet (CHI – TE) $6.58

Justin Fields has been the QB1 over the previous three weeks, and his ascent is Kmet’s gain. Kmet had 22 fantasy points against the Dolphins (ranked second among all tight ends). He has three touchdowns in the last two games (two touchdowns in his previous 40 career games). Kmet had an 83% route participation and was targeted on 17% of his routes run last week. The Bears tied an NFL record with 225+ rushing yards in four consecutive games, but the more Fields develops in the passing game, the more balanced this offense will be down the stretch. Fields has nine total touchdowns in his last three games, and Kmet should continue to be his top red zone target.

Terrace Marshall Jr. (CAR – WR) $1.87

The Panthers wide receiver is one of the cheapest buys out there, but should be worth a long look, given how much he has exploded in the last couple of weeks. Marshall is coming off a 14.3-point fantasy point performance (20th among WRs). He leads the team with five endzone targets (all within the last two weeks) and has 12+ fantasy points in consecutive games after failing to reach that number in any of his previous 17 career games. He now faces a Falcons defense he just torched for a season-high 87 yards two weeks ago, so his stock price is likely to be on the rise again after this week.

SELL

Tom Brady (TB – QB) $172.00

If you were smart, you would have sold Brady weeks ago, as the Tampa Bay offense continues to struggle week in and week out. However, given how dominant Seattle’s defense has been during its four-game winning streak, now is a great time to sell your Brady shares before he turns in another clunker. Over the last four weeks, the Seahawks defense ranks first in yards per play allowed (4.3), is tied for first with 19 sacks, ranks second in QBR allowed 31, and is tied for second with seven takeaways.

Joe Mixon (CIN – RB) $15.63

Mixon’s 55.1 fantasy points versus the Panthers were the fifth-most points in a single game since 2013. In addition, he became the sixth player in the Super Bowl era with 200+ scrimmage yards and 5+ touchdowns in a single game. As a result of his historical performance, he shot up to the overall RB2 this season. However, he entered the week ranked outside the top 10 of all fantasy running backs, and we will not overreact to a once-in-a-lifetime performance. The Bengals will continue to be a pass-heavy offense, and Mixon’s schedule, especially in the fantasy playoffs (faces the Buccaneers, Patriots, and Bills), means it will be tough sledding ahead.
