Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Stash Targets
Stash Candidates: Alexander Mattison, Dontrell Hilliard, Matt Breida, Kenneth Gainwell, Kyren Williams, James Cook
It is still handcuff season for RBs. The position will still have some unfortunate injuries as we hurtle toward the fantasy playoffs, so stashing replacements for valuable starters can save you a lot of grief (and FAAB) should disaster strike.
Alexander Mattison, Matt Breida, and James Cook really don’t hold much value unless the lead back gets hurt. Mattison barely sees the field when Dalvin Cook is healthy, while Breida and Cook seem to only get enough work to give Saquon Barkley and Devin Singletary some load management.
Dontrell Hilliard and Kenneth Gainwell currently enjoy steady roles as receiving options on third down and every few series. Kyren Williams is in a similar situation with Cam Akers, but Akers is very capable of handling a three-down workload. Even with more touches than Akers on Sunday, Williams did virtually nothing with them. The Rams offense is an avoidable calamity for fantasy unless Matthew Stafford returns, which is seeming more unlikely by the day.
