Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Aaron Donald dealing with a high ankle sprain

Rams head coach Sean McVay says medical staff has communicated that it sounds like a high ankle sprain for Aaron Donald.

Fantasy Impact

The Rams have nothing to play for sitting at 3-8 on the season. High ankle sprains are usually several week injuries for most players. McVay has not ruled out shutting down Donald, Cooper Kupp or Matthew Stafford for the season.

Allen Robinson II (foot) ruled out for season

Rams’ HC Sean McVay announcned that Allen Robinson II requires foot surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2022 season.

Fantasy Impact

Robinson seemingly picked up the injury in the Week 11 loss to the Saints, and clearly it was worse than initially thought. Just like that, the popular offseason fantasy pick’s campaign comes to a merciful end. Robinson was flat out bad playing in the Rams’ offense through 11 weeks, posting a meager 33-339-3 line. The Rams are now shockingly thin at receiver missing both Robinson and Cooper Kupp. Van Jefferson should be the team’s WR1 for the foreseeable future, and he’ll be joined by the likes of Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell, and Brandon Powell. What a mess.

Travis Etienne Jr. (foot) was cleared to return against Ravens

According to Jaguars’ HC Doug Pederson, RB Travis Etienne was cleared to return against the Ravens after suffering a foot injury, but the team decided not to take any risks.

Fantasy Impact

The good news is that means that Etienne should be a full go for Week 13. Unfortunately for fantasy owners on Sunday, they had to endure a goose egg from the explosive second-year back. Etienne’s practice reps will be worth monitoring leading up to Sunday’s matchup with the Lions, but early signs point to him being a full-go for the plus-est of plus matchups.

Ja’Marr Chase (hip) expected to return in Week 13

Ja’Marr Chase (hip) is expected to return in Week 13 against the Chiefs.

Fantasy Impact

Chase was reportedly very close to returning to action for Week 12’s matchup with the Titans. The Bengals brass decided to give the star wideout one more week and now plan for Chase to be back on the field Sunday versus the Chiefs. Chase has been out since Week 7, before which he was averaging nearly six grabs and more than 75 yards per game while scoring six touchdowns.
