Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Mark Andrews avoids a major injury
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that TE Mark Andrews dodged a major injury but is dealing with shoulder and ankle injuries, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley.
Fantasy Impact
Andrews was limited and absent from practices ahead of Week 7 and Week 8’s matchups, but he left Week 8’s Thursday Night Football game early with an injury. He did not return, but he dodged an injury. He will likely continue to be limited in practice, and his status should be monitored all week. There is a chance he returns for Week 9, but if he misses any time, TE Isaiah Likely becomes an interesting target.
Rashod Bateman expected to miss multiple weeks
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that WR Rashod Bateman’s foot injury is worse than originally anticipated, and he is expected to miss multiple weeks, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec.
Fantasy Impact
Bateman missed multiple weeks of action before returning, but he got injured again during Week 8’s contest. Now the sophomore receiver will miss even more time. The Ravens could be in the market to pick up a WR via trade, but in the meantime, WR Devin Duvernay has shown flex value.
Irv Smith Jr. suffers potential high-ankle sprain
Irv Smith Jr. potentially suffered a high-ankle sprain during Week 8 vs the Cardinals. The Vikings are still confirming the injury and figuring out a timeline.
Fantasy Impact
This is tough news for the Vikings TE, but a firmer confirmation as to the injury should come in the coming days. If he is forced to miss extended time, Johnny Mundt would likely become the starting TE in Minnesota.
DeVante Parker diagnosed with knee sprain
DeVante Parker suffered a knee sprain on Sunday and might miss only one game if he misses any.
Fantasy Impact
This is good news for the Patriots and fantasy managers, as Parker had been a serviceable flex option of late. New England faces Indianapolis in Week 9 and then has its bye week, so Parker may sit out next Sunday to give him two weeks to rest. Keep an eye on his status throughout the week.
