Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Josh Allen ‘set to be on the field’ Sunday against Minnesota
Josh Allen, who has been questionable throughout the Week with an elbow sprain, is on track to play in Week 10 after logging just one limited practice Friday.
Fantasy Impact
Allen has been one of the best, if not the single best, fantasy QB most of the season. and it appears fantasy managers dodged a bullet with Allen’s elbow injury. Whether or not he will be limited in any way is unclear, but it is fair to expect at least a slightly limited version of the MVP candidate. Nonetheless, Allen should be started across all formats as a QB1 in Week 10.
Ezekiel Elliott (knee) a true game-time decision
Ezekiel Elliott (knee) will be a true game-time decision Sunday night against Green Bay. The team will evaluate him pregame, but expect a conservative decision per Ed Werder of ESPN.
Fantasy Impact
Although Elliott has never missed consecutive games, the team and the veteran are considering long-term how the knee injury may impact him. The Cowboys also elevated Qadree Ollison from the practice squad as insurance in the event Elliott does not suit up. With the game being Sunday night, fantasy managers might want to consider benching Elliott if they have another option in the earlier window of games.
Elijah Mitchell activated off IR Saturday
Elijah Mitchell, who has been out since Week 1 with a knee injury, has been officially activated ahead of the 49ers’ Week 10 game against the Chargers.
Fantasy Impact
Mitchell will return on Sunday, but he has lost his starting job to Christain McCaffery. However, when you consider McCaffery’s injury history and the 49ers’ affinity for running the football, a healthy Mitchell is an elite handcuff. He is not worth starting in Week 10, but the second-year back could still see some work in Week 10.
Brandin Cooks expected to play Week 10 vs. Giants
Texans’ WR Brandin Cooks, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a wrist injury, is expected to play against the Giants, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact
Cooks wanted to be traded before the NFL trade deadline and sat out the team’s matchup against the Eagles on Thursday Night Football last week after not being moved. Through seven games this season, he has caught 32 of his 53 targets for 354 yards and one touchdown. The FantasyPros ECR has him at WR36 this week, though that is likely to move up slightly once he is confirmed as active. Still, he is a borderline WR2/WR3 this week, especially since he figures to see a healthy dose of Giants CB Adoree’ Jackson.
