Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Aaron Jones (ankle) tests come back negative

Tests on Packers’ RB Aaron Jones’ ankle today came back negative.

Fantasy Impact

According to a source of Schefter, “(Jones) should be able to play this week.” His practice status will still have to be monitored the next few days, but it appears he avoided a scare after being seen in a boot following Sunday’s game against the Lions.

Romeo Doubs (ankle) diagnosed with high-ankle sprain

Romeo Doubs suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Lions on Sunday and is expected to miss time going forward.

Fantasy Impact

Doubs had to be carted off the field after suffering the injury will now likely miss multiple weeks of action due to it. High-ankle sprains typically carry a four to six week recovery timeline, though Doubs will endure further tests to determine that length. The injury is unfortunate timing for the rookie, as he had really been starting to come into his own while getting in sync with Aaron Rodgers. Allen Lazard will now see more targets coming his way and Christian Watson could become more involved once he returns from the concussion protocol.

Ezekiel Elliott (knee) not practicing on Monday

Cowboys’ head coach Mike McCarthy noted that Ezekiel Elliott was sidelined for practice on Monday as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

Fantasy Impact

McCarthy did mention that Monday was a light practice session for the team and that practice will resume as normal on Wednesday. If Elliott is out there for Wednesday’s session, it will be a good sign for his Week 10 outlook. Dallas’ owner Jerry Jones has continued to reiterate that Elliott will be the top back for the Cowboys when healthy, and that is still on track to happen this week.

Josh Allen (elbow) being evaluated for UCL injury

According to Bills’ HC Sean McDermott, Josh Allen is being evaluated for an injury to the UCL of his right elbow, and that more information should be available on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

This report straight out of McDermott’s mouth poses a glimmer picture than what sources had been speculating on earlier on Monday. If Allen suffered nerve damage to his UCL, he could be looking at significant missed time. The UCL is, of course, the ligament that baseball players require reconstructive Tommy John surgery for when it is torn or damaged. The alarm bells do not need to be ringing just yet, but Tuesday’s reports should paint a better picture of what Allen and the Bills may be looking at.
