Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Mark Andrews (shoulder) not practicing on Thursday
Mark Andrews continues to deal with a shoulder injury he suffered last week, and he remained out of practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Head coach John Harbaugh previously noted that he did not believe the injury was a “major thing” but no practice whatsoever is always worth monitoring. Luckily for Andrews, the Ravens have an extra day of rest as they are set to face the Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 9. Andrews is the type of player that could suit up without practicing but fantasy mangers will want to have a contingency plan in place in case he cannot go this week. If Isaiah Likely is still out there on some waiver wires, he needs to be picked up universally.
D’Andre Swift (ankle) practicing Thursday
D’Andre Swift (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday after skipping Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
It’s a good sign that Swift will be a go for Sunday, though the Lions may limit his snaps again this week as Swift revealed he’s still not 100% on Monday. You probably still need to start him in an excellent matchup versus the Packers. However, you lower your expectations as Jamaal Williams also figures to be heavily involved.
Jonathan Taylor (ankle) held out of practice Thursday
Jonathan Taylor, who reinjured his ankle during the Colt’s Week 8 loss, was unable to practice for the second straight day.
Fantasy Impact
Taylor missed a couple of games with his ankle injury earlier this season, and after tweaking the injury last Sunday the third-year back has failed to log any practice reps. The Colts could just be handling Taylor with an abundance of caution, but whether or not he gets in any work in Friday’s practice will be a strong indicator as to whether or not he will play on Sunday in New England. If Taylor does miss time, Deon Jackson would be the primary option, with newly acquired Zack Moss involved as well.
Rashod Bateman (foot) out for the rest of the season
Rashod Bateman (foot) will undergo surgery on his foot, ending his 2022 season.
Fantasy Impact
It’s a massive blow for the Ravens and fantasy managers who’ve been holding onto Bateman, hoping for the breakout that many expected to come. Devin Duvernay now steps into the role of the top WR on the Ravens, with Isaiah Likely and Demarcus Robinson emerging as depth options.
