Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Jonathan Taylor (ankle) not practicing Wednesday

Jonathan Taylor will be sidelined from practice on Wednesday as he deals with an ankle injury ahead of Week 9.

Fantasy Impact

Taylor seemingly hurt his ankle in the loss to Washington on Sunday and was in and out of the lineup for the remainder of the game. It is possible that the Colts are simply giving Taylor some extra time off, but this injury will need to be monitored throughout the rest of the week. Indianapolis did sign Jordan Wilkins to their practice squad on Wednesday morning, providing them with some extra depth incase Taylor cannot go in Week 9.

D’Andre Swift (shoulder, ankle) sidelined Wednesday

D’Andre Swift was sidelined at Lions practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Swift saw just five carries in his return in Week 8 and Lions coach Dan Campbell said the Lions were easing Swift back. His status at practice the rest of the week will have to be monitored. Jamaal Williams would be an RB1 play if Swift was to be sidelined, but Swift still has a chance to play if he can return to practice on Thursday or Friday.

Allen Lazard (shoulder) practices Wednesday

Allen Lazard returned to practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Lazard was sidelined in Week 8 due to a shoulder injury. It is a step in the right direction, but he will have to continue to practice on Thursday and/or Friday. If healthy, he will be in the WR2 conversation this weekend against the Lions.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) sidelined Wednesday

Keenan Allen was sidelined at Chargers practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Chargers coach Brandon Staley also said Allen may miss this weekend’s game against the Falcons. Per Staley, the injury has not “responded the way that we hoped.” With Mike Williams also sidelined, Josh Palmer and Gerald Everett would see a bump in opportunity if Allen is also sidelined.
