Tyreek Hill has been one of the best receivers in football this season, as he currently leads the league in receiving yards with 477 through four games played. However, the wideout popped up on the injury report this week during practice with a quad issue. He has been limited in practice since the injury, so his status for Week 5 is most certainly up in the air. Even with Teddy Bridgewater under center, there’s no doubt that Hill is a WR1 week in and week out in fantasy lineups. However, will he be able to suit up on Sunday? Here’s what we know.
- Will Curtis Samuel Play in Week 5?
- Will Jakobi Meyers Play in Week 5?
- Will Brian Robinson Jr. Play in Week 5?
- Will Amon-Ra St. Brown Play in Week 5?
- Will Alvin Kamara Play in Week 5?

Tyreek Hill (quad) hopeful to play Sunday
Mike McDaniel is ‘very hopeful’ that Tyreek Hill (quad) will be able to play in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact
Hill was limited in practice Thursday after a quad injury popped up during practice. A clearer picture of Hill’s health should come as we approach Sunday, but it doesn’t look like a certainty that Hill will play. Jaylen Waddle, Cedrick Wilson Jr., and Mike Gesicki could all see more targets if Hill were to miss Sunday’s game.

What the Experts are Saying
Hill hasn’t missed a beat with the relocation to Miami. He’s the WR4 in fantasy with a 32.6% target share (fourth), 35.5% target per route run rate (fifth), and 37.4% air yard share (sixth-best). He leads the NFL in yards per route run and is fourth in PFF receiving grade (minimum ten targets). He’ll run about 58% of his routes against D.J. Reed and Sauce Gardner if Mike McDaniel doesn’t roll him inside more (which could happen). Reed has been elite with a 44.4% catch rate and 32.9 passer rating allowed. Gardner has been impressive for a rookie with a 47.4% catch rate and 81.3 passer rating. Hill has seen 34.9% of his target volume from the slot this year and ranks tenth in slot yards per route run (minimum five slot targets). It wouldn’t surprise me to see his slot rate increased this week to take advantage of Michael Carter. Carter hasn’t been on the same level he was in his rookie season, with an 84.6% catch rate and 112.3 given up. Hill is a weekly WR1, even with Teddy two gloves tossing the rock.

Could still go either way, but we’d lean towards Hill playing. The average quad strain comes with a temporary performance dip of ~20%, but based on his practice timeline, this one sounds like it’s on the milder side. As a season-long Hill owner, I’m still planning to play him, but would be looking elsewhere in DFS.
