Russell Wilson is having a season to forget, and then a hamstring injury took him out of Week 7’s home game against the Jets. The 2-5 Broncos are now in London to take on the Jaguars in a Week 8 tilt, and Wilson’s high-knees exercises on the plane apparently have him trending in the right direction. So the questions for fantasy managers are two-fold: (1) Will Russell Wilson play in Week 8? and (2) If he does play, is he worth a start in fantasy leagues? This is what we know right now.

Russell Wilson to start Sunday in London
According to Mike Klis of 9NEWS, QB Russell Wilson is expected to start versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in London.
Fantasy Impact
Wilson dealt with a hamstring injury that kept him out of Week 7’s contest, a loss to the New York Jets. QB Brett Rypien passed for 225 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in his absence. Wilson has struggled this season even when healthy, throwing for just five touchdowns. But with the weapons available on Denver’s offense, Wilson can still be viewed as a QB2 option in superflex formats.

What the Experts are Saying
Wilson looks like he’ll be back in the starting lineup this week. He’s a borderline QB1/2. Wilson has been a QB1 only once this season and top-15 only three times. Stating that Wilson has been dreadful isn’t shocking anyone. He’s 31st in PFF passing grade, 33rd in adjusted completion rate, and 18th in big-time throw rate (minimum 50 dropbacks). The Jaguars have been more pliable since Week 5 through the air, though. Over the last three weeks, they are 21st in passing yards per game, 27th in EPA per dropback, and 20th in explosive pass rate.
