Russell Wilson is having a season to forget for himself and fantasy managers. He has only cracked 20 fantasy points once in Week 4 against Las Vegas and has only five touchdown passes in six games. After last week’s loss to the Chargers, the Broncos announced that Wilson is dealing with a hamstring injury that would require further evaluation. His status is now up in the air for Week 7’s matchup against the Jets. So will the 33-year-old QB be available on Sunday? And, if he is, should fantasy managers start him? Here is where things stand on Friday night.

Russell Wilson a game-time decision versus Jets
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, QB Russell Wilson is a game-time decision for Sunday. He’s officially listed as questionable.
Fantasy Impact
Wilson was listed as a limited participant in practice this week as QB Brett Rypien reportedly factored in during practices. If Wilson is unable to go, Rypien is expected to get the start. Wilson has struggled to be a reliable fantasy option this season, though, so it’s safe to look for other options.

What the Experts are Saying
Fantasy managers need the hotline number for Wilson’s manager. Grievances have to be aired. Atrocious play needs to be discussed. Wilson has been abysmal as the QB21 in fantasy. He’s 34th in PFF passing grade and 31st in adjusted completion rate (minimum 50 dropbacks). He has thrown for multiple touchdowns once. He hasn’t eclipsed 280 passing yards since Week 1. This week he faces down a Jets’ pass defense that has morphed into a juggernaut. Since Week 4, they are fourth in pass defense DVOA with the third-lowest yards per attempt, lowest passer rating, and third-lowest explosive pass rate allowed. If that wasn’t enough, New York is also fifth in pressure rate. Wilson is 27th (out of 36 QBs, minimum 25 pressured dropbacks) in pressured PFF passing grade, 20th in pressure-adjusted completion rate, and 24th in QBR when under pressure. Wilson is a sketchy QB2.
