Mac Jones was 1-2 when he suffered a high-ankle sprain, which caused him to miss the next three games. Backup QB Bailey Zappe has performed well in his stead, so there is no guarantee the Patriots will go back to Jones when he is healthy enough to play. Fantasy managers riding the New England QB carousel would like to know who to hang onto and who to drop, and in a difficult bye week, knowing sooner rather than later is preferred. So will Mac Jones be healthy enough to play in Week 7? Or are we still a week removed from discovering what the Patriots have in mind for the QB position? Here is what we know right now.

Mac Jones (ankle) limited in practice Friday
Mac Jones (ankle) was limited in Friday’s practice ahead of a Week 7 Monday night matchup with the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy Impact
Jones continues to work his way back from a high ankle sprain and has now practiced in limited fashion all week. If Jones is able to play Monday night, he will reclaim his starting role against an underrated Bears defense.
What the Experts are Saying
After missing the last three weeks, Jones is expected to start this week. Jones hasn’t been great this season, but he could walk away with a solid stat line this week. Jones is 33rd in PFF passing grade and adjusted completion rate, ranking second in big-time throw rate and aDOT (minimum 50 dropbacks). Jones has been pushing the ball down the field at an insane rate. Among all quarterbacks with at least ten deep attempts, he’s first in deep ball rate (20.6%). Chicago is 25th in DVOA against deep passing. Overall the Bears’ secondary allows the 11th-highest success rate per dropback while ranking 21st in EPA per dropback. Jones is a solid QB2.
