Mac Jones, after being somewhat disappointing through the first three weeks of the season, has missed the last two games with a high ankle sprain that he suffered at the end of New England’s Week 3 loss. Despite the quarterback’s timetable for return being a bit longer, the Patriots have listed him as questionable heading into Week 6 against the Browns. Bailey Zappe has been solid filling in for Jones, but Jones will definitely slide right back into the lineup when he is deemed healthy enough to retake the field. However, will that be this week? Here’s what we know.

Mac Jones (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for the Patriots’ Week 6 game with Cleveland.
Fantasy Impact
Jones has missed the last two weeks with a high-ankle sprain. Jones has been able to log limited practice time, but if he returns Sunday he would be way ahead of his original return timetable. Fantasy managers should expect Bailey Zappe to start if Jones is inactive.

What the Experts are Saying
These average 2-to-4 weeks for QBs, and Jones is now at week three. He has a real shot to play, although data suggests Week 7 is more likely. If out there, expect some limitations in running and his ability to protect himself. As a result, short-term re-injury risk is elevated.
