Keenan Allen: Chargers remaining cautious with WR’s hamstring injury
The Chargers are considering Keenan Allen questionable for their game against Denver. While he has made progress in rehabbing his hamstring injury, if he feels any apprehension they will hold him out.
Fantasy Impact
Allen would miss his fifth consecutive game if he is held out of the Chargers’ matchup with Denver. Allen has been out of action since Week 1 with a hamstring injury that the team has monitored closely and is being cautious with. With the Chargers playing on Monday, fantasy managers will want to make sure they have a backup plan if they await word on his official status.
What the Experts are Saying
Definitely making moves in the right direction. If he logs a limited practice session again on Saturday, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him play. Either way, I’d temporarily avoid him because a significant (~20%) performance dip is expected. Allen will carry elevated re-injury risk for the next 4 weeks as well. -Deepak Chona, M.D.
