Will Jaylen Waddle Play in Week 7? (2022 Fantasy Football)

Jaylen Waddle‘s production fell off a cliff after Tua Tagovailoa‘s injury, but he remains half of a truly dynamic duo with Tyreek Hill. Tagovailoa is back for Week 7’s matchup against Pittsburgh, and it is an enticing matchup with the Steelers’ 17th-ranked pass defense. Waddle is dealing with a shoulder industry he sustained in Week 6’s game against the Vikings, so will he be available for Tua’s return? Or will fantasy managers have to comb the waiver wire in a bye week for many fantasy stars? Here’s what we know.

Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) limited in practice

Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in Miami’s practice Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Waddle is dealing with some kind of a shoulder injury that left him limited at practice Wednesday. The exact severity of it is unknown, but there is optimism that he will be able to play Sunday. Miami’s offense could return to early-season form if Waddle and Tua are both healthy this week.

What the Experts are Saying

Waddle has been listed as questionable (shoulder) after practicing on a limited basis all week. Waddle is the WR11 in fantasy points per game, commanding a 23.3% target share (26th) and 28.5% air yard share (30th). He’s 13th in PFF receiving grade and fifth in yards per route run (minimum 15 targets). While Hill has been the deep weapon, Waddle has been the YAC master. He’s fifth in YAC per reception (minimum 15 targets). The Steelers are eighth in YAC allowed and 13th (tied) in missed tackles. Waddle is a WR1.

TBD, but we’d lean towards Waddle playing. WRs who practice all week (even in a limited capacity) with shoulder sprains/strains don’t tend to see much impact on their performance unless they re-aggravate the injury in-game.
