Curtis Samuel has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy managers this season. He seemingly has a good rapport with QB Carson Wentz and is invaluable in PPR leagues, averaging 6.5 receptions per game. He appeared on the injury report this week with an undisclosed illness, and it has been in question whether or not he will play in Washington’s Week 5 matchup against Tennessee. So is Samuel a player that fantasy managers will want in their lineups on Sunday? Here is what we know.
- Will Jakobi Meyers Play in Week 5?
- Will Brian Robinson Jr. Play in Week 5?
- Will Amon-Ra St. Brown Play in Week 5?
- Will Alvin Kamara Play in Week 5?
- Will Tyreek Play in Week 5?

Curtis Samuel (illness) ‘looks good’ at practice Friday
Ron Rivera said Curtis Samuel looked good today back at practice after dealing with the flu.
Fantasy Impact
Samuel returned after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to the flu. Players can typically play even when missing practice due to being sick, so Samuel will likely be on the field this weekend against the Titans. He and Terry McLaurin should see more of the target share with Jahan Dotson (hamstring) sidelined.

What the Experts are Saying
Samuel has been a PPR machine with at least seven targets in every game as the WR19 in fantasy. He has a 22.2% target share and a 23% target per route run rate. He’s eighth in YAC with his suboptimal 4.0 aDOT. He’s a WR3 that gets a bump in PPR formats. If he gets in the endzone with his projected volume, he could finish close to his Week 1 & 2 output (WR13, WR12). Samuel has seen four red zone targets (23rd) this season. This week he’ll run about 72% of his routes against Roger McCreary, who has given up an 82.8% catch rate and 110.2 passer rating. Samuel has dealt with an illness this week, but he’s not listed on the injury report and practiced in full on Friday.
