Last week was not my best week for this column. Travis Etienne Jr. was my best call but misses like Michael Gallup and Kenyan Drake outweighed my hits. I’m looking to bounce back this week as we have some pretty good value with the potential of more to open up as the week progresses. Let’s get to it…

Quarterback
DraftKings
Sam Ehlinger (QB – IND) vs. WAS $4,000
Ehlinger will be chalk this week, not because he is good, but because he is the minimum salary. The Colts benched Matt Ryan after the salaries had already been set for Draftkings, and no one saw this move coming. Ehlinger is a more mobile quarterback than Ryan which could mean some rushing yards for the young quarterback, and the Commanders are 29th in pass DVOA
Others to consider: Daniel Jones (NYG) $5,700, Geno Smith (NYJ) $5,800
Fanduel
Justin Fields (QB – CHI) @ DAL $6,500
Fields is coming off two straight games with 80-plus rushing yards, giving him a solid floor. The Cowboys are giving up the second-fewest points to quarterbacks on the season, which doesn’t bode well for Fields in the passing game, but they’ve only seen one rushing quarterback all season, Jalen Hurts in Week 6. They were able to contain Hurts for the most part, but the Eagles didn’t need Hurts to run much in that game, whereas the Bears will have it in their game plan to run Fields. If he can rush for 80-plus yards, throw for a touchdown and maybe even run for one, you’d be ecstatic.
Others to consider: Sam Ehlinger (IND) $6,000
Running Back
DraftKings
Tyler Allgeier (RB – ATL) vs. CAR $5,400
Only the Bears run the ball more often than the Falcons, who run it 58 percent of the time. Allgeier, with Cordarrelle Patterson still out, is the main guy getting all the volume in that backfield. The Panthers are middle of the pack in DVOA versus the run and points allowed to running backs, so you’re hoping volume and a touchdown or two are in the cards for Allgeier.
Others to consider: Khalil Herbert (CHI) @ DAL $5,700, James Robinson vs. NE $5,900
FanDuel
Tony Pollard (RB – DAL) vs. CHI $6,300
Elliott is still not practicing as of Thursday, and if he were to miss this game, Pollard could be in line for a huge workload. A week after he set career highs for snap share and touches, he may eclipse that mark in this game. The Bears rank 24th in rush DVOA and are bottom eight in points allowed to the running back position.
Others to consider:Tyler Allgeier (ATL) $6,100
Wide Receiver
DraftKings
Wan’Dale Robinson (WR – NYG) @ SEA $4,700
Coming off a season-high eight targets, it is obvious the Giants want to get the ball in the hands of Robinson. He wasn’t able to do much with those eight targets last week against a tough Jaguars defense, but he gets the much softer secondary of the Seahawks in Week 8 who rank 19th in pass DVOA. Robinson also saw his highest snap share at 69 percent last week, which should continue to rise in the coming weeks. His price tag of $4,700 is just too cheap.
Others to consider: DJ Moore (CAR) $5,300, Terry McLaurin (WAS) $6,000
FanDuel
Hunter Renfrow (WR – LV) @ NO $5,600
Playing Renfrow will depend a lot on the statuses of Darren Waller and Davante Adams. Waller has gotten in some limited practice this week, while Adams has missed back-to-back practices with an illness. The Saints’ once stingy pass defense now ranks 30th in DVOA on the season and gives up the fifth-most points to wide receivers.
Others to consider: Curtis Samuel (WAS) $5,600, Alec Pierce (IND) $5,800
Tight End
DraftKings
Logan Thomas (TE – WAS) @ IND $3,000
Finding value tight ends is getting harder and harder each week. Thomas is my choice on DraftKings this week, assuming he is cleared to play. The Commanders don’t have big-bodied wide receivers that make good red zone options — at 6-foot-6 250lbs, Thomas is a huge threat to catch a touchdown. The Colts are bottom 10 in points allowed to tight ends and are fifth worst in touchdowns allowed to the position (per FTNFantasy).
FanDuel
Irv Smith Jr. (TE – MIN) vs. ARI $5,000
As I mentioned already, finding these value tight ends has become a chore, but ISJ has proven to be a serviceable tight end despite not reaching the lofty expectations I had for him coming out of college. Excluding Week 1, the fourth-year tight has been targetted at least four times in every game. I’d look for that to continue as the Vikings go up against a Cardinals team that is second-to-last in points allowed to tight ends and only the Raiders give up more touchdowns.
