It’s been an incredible start to the season, but this slate could be tricky. We have the Thunder and Clippers facing off, which means we could have some unexpected roster changes. Oklahoma City is already up to its tanking ways, while Los Angeles is unexpectedly doing similar things. We don’t expect Los Angeles to tank but sitting many of their veterans this early in the year is a bizarre trend. That’s infuriating from a DFS perspective, but we must take that information and try to capitalize off it.

Injury Report
Core Plays
Luka Doncic (PG – DAL): $12,000 DraftKings, $12,000 FanDuel
Doncic was one of the frontrunners for MVP at the beginning of the season, and nothing has changed since then. The Slovenian has at least 56 DraftKings points in all three games, generating a league-best 63-point average. He’s also leading the NBA with an absurd 39 percent usage rate and should continue to be the best fantasy producer as long as that continues. Facing Brooklyn is brilliant, too, with the Nets ranked 27th in defensive efficiency.
Ja Morant (PG – MEM): $10,200 DraftKings, $10,600 FanDuel
Ja broke out into an All-Star player last season, but he’s ascending into MVP status. The young guard has at least 53 DraftKings points in three of four games this season, averaging 35.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game. He should continue that fantastic form against the Kings, ranked 29th in points allowed last year and 25th in defensive efficiency this season.
Cash Game Considerations
Kevin Durant (SF/PF – MEM): $10,000 DraftKings, $9,700 FanDuel
The Nets haven’t been as good as fans would have hoped, but KD continues to cook the rest of the league. He’s scored at least 45 DK points in every game thus far, despite lacking in rebounds and assists. We expect both of those to come around the deeper into the season he gets, making him a candidate to surpass a 50-point average for the year. We anticipate one of those here, with Durant dropping 46 fantasy points in his most recent matchup with the Mavs.
Stephen Curry (PG – GSW): $9,900 DraftKings, $9,800 FanDuel
Chef Curry just missed 30 raw points for the first time this season on Tuesday, but he still surpassed 45 DK points for the fourth straight fixture. That’s one of the best floors around, and the former MVP looks zoned in with Klay Thompson and Draymond Green facing a minutes restriction. Matching up with Miami is usually concerning, but they rank 22nd in defensive efficiency ratings so far this season. You’ll have to choose two of these four to build an optimal lineup, but all of these guys should reach 50 fantasy points.
GPP Targets
Steven Adams (C – MEM): $5,400 DraftKings, $5,500 FanDuel
Memphis has been trying to figure out their rotation with Jaren Jackson Jr.sidelined, and it looks like it’s leaving Adams with a massive role. The Kiwi has played at least 31 minutes in three of four games, posting a 29-point average in those outings. He’s done that damage despite scoring just 20 points on the year, and we expect that to come around as well. All of that is impossible to find from such a cheap player, and he shouldn’t have any issues against this subpar Sacramento defense. In their three meetings last year, Adams averaged over 31 fantasy points per game.
Kyle Lowry (PG – MIA): $5,800 DraftKings, $5,100 FanDuel
Everyone was horrified to see Lowry play so lousy in the postseason, but this dude was a $7K player this time last season. He’s been inconsistent to start the year, but we’re ecstatic he’s playing over 35 minutes a night. He’s also scored over 30 DK points in three of five games, and that would be a colossal total from such a cheap player. The Warriors aren’t a worrisome matchup, allowing nearly 121 points per game.
Value Plays
Ivica Zubac (C – LAC): $6,500 DraftKings, $6,500 FanDuel
The Clippers have been all over the map, but Zoo is one of the few guys who plays every night. Kawhi, PG13, and Morris have all been in and out of the lineup recently, leading to Zubac scoring at least 45 DK points in two of four games this year. That’s a ridiculous ceiling from a player in this price range, but it’s no surprise since there’s no center depth behind him on this roster. One of those masterpieces came against OKC, with Zoo collecting 10 points, 14 rebounds, and seven blocks against this horrific frontcourt on Tuesday.
Royce O’Neale (SF/PF – BKN): $4,700 DraftKings, $5,100 FanDuel
O’Neale provides almost all of his value through defensive statistics, but it’s nice since you get rewarded for steals and blocks more than any category. That has led to Royce scoring at least 24 DK points in all three games, en route to a 28-point average. That might not sound like much, but it’s all you can hope for from a $5K player. He’s also playing 37 minutes a night, and as long as that’s the case, O’Neale needs to be $1,000 more, with KD and Kyrie taking all of the tough defenders.
Advantageous Pricing
- Kyle Lowry (PG – MIA): $5,800 DraftKings, $5,100 FanDuel
- Christian Wood (C – DAL): $7,500 DraftKings, $8,200 FanDuel
- Nicolas Claxton (C – BKN): $6,000 DraftKings, $6,700 FanDuel
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (PG – OKC): $9,300 DraftKings, $10,300 FanDuel
- Andrew Wiggins (SG/SF – GSW): $6,900 DraftKings, $7,900 FanDuel
- Domantas Sabonis (PF/C – SAC): $8,200 DraftKings, $9,000 FanDuel
