Monkey Knife Fight Advice: Week 8 (2022 Fantasy Football)

Welcome to Monkey Knife Fight. Monkey Knife Fight is one of the more intriguing entrants in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based contests, Monkey Knife Fight allows DFS players to put their fantasy football knowledge and predictive powers to the test.

They offer fantasy point and stat-based contests. Perhaps the most appealing of all of their offerings is the ‘More or Less’ contests. In these contests, you can choose whether a player will fall above or below totals for a preset combination of two to 10 players. Your win probability obviously goes down with the more players you add, but you receive an increased payout multiplier in exchange.

Since Monkey Knife Fight’s fantasy point and stat-based totals are dynamic, meaning the total, total type, and pairings change throughout the week, it is important to search for favorable and advantageous total pairings to exploit on a daily basis. Ideally, when choosing a total pairing, you want to feel extremely confident on one of the totals and feel strongly enough about the other total to proceed. This week we will take a look at two of the ‘More’ options that stood out the most for Week 8. Note that these are not locked in pairings, and may no longer be offered by the time you log in to make your picks.

Plays of the week

Josh Jacobs (RB – LV): 89.5 rushing yards
Josh Jacobs is on fire. He has rushed for over 143 yards in three straight games and has become a true centerpiece of the Raiders offense. He is second in the NFL with 105.5 rushing yards per game and would be a strong More option against almost any defense. This week, he gets to tote the rock against a New Orleans Saints offense surrendering 101.3 rushing yards per game to opposing running backs, putting Jacobs in an excellent position to hit at least 100 yards for the fourth straight contest. Both teams are struggling, but the Raiders appear to have a path to victory (and positive gamescript) if they ride Jacobs and let Davante Adams take advantage of a secondary that will be without star corner Marshon Lattimore. Tap More on Jacobs for Week 8 at MonkeyKnifeFight.
Prediction: More

Miles Sanders (RB – PHI): 69.5 rushing yards
Miles Sanders has been one of the more consistent running backs this season. He ranks seventh in the NFL with 80.8 rushing yards per game. Sanders has rushed for 71 yards in four out of six contests and is facing off against struggling Steelers run defense that has allowed 99.4 rushing yards per game. There is always some risk associated with Sanders due to Jalen Hurts taking a significant amount of team carries but the 69.5 number and his consistency to open the season makes the More one of the best options on the board this weekend. Pittsburgh will be without one of their top run stoppers in Larry Ogunjobi (and is still down T.J. Watt), increasing the likelihood that Sanders cracks the 70 yard barrier. Tap the More on Sanders for Week 8.
Prediction: More

Kenneth Walker (RB – SEA): 84.5 rushing yards
Kenneth Walker has looked the part of a quality NFL starter since taking over for the injured Rashaad Penny, rushing 88 or more yards in all three of his contests since the former first round pick was lost for the season. Walker had 88 rushing yards in Week 5 after Penny exited early with the injury and followed that up with rushing performances of 97 and 167 yards (good for a 137 rushing yards per game average as a starter). He is running just as strong as he did at Michigan State and will likely be even more of a focal point for the Seahawks this week, with DK Metcalf coming into this one banged up and likely to be limited even if he does play. New York has surrendered four 100 rushing yard performances this season en route to allowing 118.1 rushing yards per game. To make matters worse (or better for those leaning More), the Giants will be missing edge defenders Azeez Ojulari and Oshane Ximines. Tap the More on Walker for Week 8.
Prediction: More
