Monkey Knife Fight Advice: Week 7 (2022 Fantasy Football)

Welcome to Monkey Knife Fight. Monkey Knife Fight is one of the more intriguing entrants in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based contests, Monkey Knife Fight allows DFS players to put their fantasy football knowledge and predictive powers to the test.

They offer fantasy point and stat-based contests. Perhaps the most appealing of all of their offerings is the ‘More or Less’ contests. In these contests, you can choose whether a player will fall above or below totals for a preset combination of two to 10 players. Your win probability obviously goes down with the more players you add, but you receive an increased payout multiplier in exchange.

Since Monkey Knife Fight’s fantasy point and stat-based totals are dynamic, meaning the total, total type, and pairings change throughout the week, it is important to search for favorable and advantageous total pairings to exploit on a daily basis. Ideally, when choosing a total pairing, you want to feel extremely confident on one of the totals and feel strongly enough about the other total to proceed. This week we will take a look at two of the ‘More’ options that stood out the most for Week 7. Note that these are not locked in pairings, and may no longer be offered by the time you log in to make your picks.

Plays of the week

Davante Adams (WR – LV): 85.5 receiving yards
Davante bounced back from consecutive duds with over 101 receiving yards in each of his last two games. He is averaging 10.9 targets and 82.8 receiving yards per game on the season as the unquestioned number one target in the Raiders offense. His 31.4 percent target share is fourth among all receivers. Adams has a tasty matchup this weekend against the Houston Texans. Our very own Matt Freedman had this to say about Adams facing the Texans:

As alluded to in Matt’s tweet, Adams has an excellent probability of hitting at least 86 receiving yards in this game, especially considering how bad Houston has been at stopping outside receivers. With that said, this might be the type of game Derek Stingley gets up for, as the rookie cornerback allows just a 53 percent catch rate on the season. However, he is relinquishing 7.1 yards per target and facing, arguably, the best in the league. It should be a fun battle to watch, but we expect Davante to prevail. Prediction: More

Josh Jacobs (RB – LV): 79.5 rushing yards
Josh Jacobs has been excellent this season. Third in rushing yards and ninth in carries despite already having a bye week, Jacobs is one pace for career highs in every category. He is averaging 98 rushing yards per game coming into this contest, making the 79.5 rushing yards posted at MonkeyKnifeFight very generous indeed. This is especially true when one considers that Jacobs has rushed for 144 or more yards in two straight games and is facing a Texans team allowing a robust 26 carries for 133.6 rushing yards per game. They have gifted at least 100 rushing yards in each game and will be facing one of the league’s hottest running backs, one who is seeing workhorse touches and snap share in his recent two game explosion. A final interesting nugget to know is that the Houston Texans run frequent two high shell looks, and Josh Jacobs is the best in the league at running against that scheme.

Jacobs will very likely hit 100 rushing yards on Sunday, so this is an offering that everyone should try to get into their afternoon slate card. Act fast and tap More for Jacobs for Week 7.
