The penultimate regular season MLB DFS main slate has 10 games at Draftkings and eight at FanDuel, beginning at 7:05 pm ET on both DFS outlets. Below are four suggested pitchers, two stacks, three core studs and three values/punts for tonight’s main slate.
Tuesday's Starting Pitcher Strategy
A lefty hosting a dreadful road offense is the top pitcher tonight. Then, a locked-in righty is a high-upside GPP pivot. Finally, a southpaw at a hitter-friendly park and a volatile righty are the SP2 suggestions for cash games and tournaments at DK.

Cash Game Recommendations:
Julio Urias (LAD) vs. COL
According to FanGraphs, Urias has had a dental-floss thin 1.04 ERA in his last 10 starts spanning 60.1 innings. Sure, Urias's 3.62 xFIP and 3.60 SIERA haven't matched his dominant ERA. Nevertheless, they've been stellar marks.
Urias has also had a 0.93 WHIP and 25.1 K% during his heater. Thus, he shouldn't have any trouble tying up the Rockies. Colorado has been dreadful in road games. In fact, the Rockies are last in wOBA (.276) in away games in 2022. Finally, according to Betting Pros, the Dodgers are -375. So, all arrows are pointing upward for Urias's DFS-scoring outlook tonight.
Jeffrey Springs (TB) at BOS
Pitching at Fenway Park is always tricky. Still, Springs has pitched excellently lately. In his last 11 starts spanning 59.0 innings, the lefty has had a 2.14 ERA, 3.24 xFIP, 1.02 WHIP, 5.8 BB% and 26.6 K%.
As a result, Springs is a talent-driven suggestion as an SP2 at DK. Further, the betting info is encouraging. The Rays are -115, and the game's total is just 7.5 runs. Therefore, using Springs at his cap-friendly salary is attractive.
GPP Recommendations:
Zac Gallen (ARI) at MIL
Gallen is another white-hot starter. In his last 11 starts spanning a workhorse's 73.1 innings, he's had a 1.35 ERA, 2.54 xFIP, 2.65 SIERA, 0.72 WHIP, 5.7 BB%, 32.3 K% and 30.0 CSW%. Thus, Gallen's upside is through the roof.
Sadly, the matchup is challenging. The Brewers are tied for seventh in wRC+ (108) against right-handed pitchers. Still, Milwaukee's 23.2 K% has been exploitable. Further, Gallen has the goods to pick Milwaukee's lineup apart. The betting info is rock-solid, too. The Diamondbacks are -115, and the game's total is a pitcher-friendly 7.0 runs.
Lucas Giolito (CWS) vs. MIN
It's been a forgettable season for Giolito. Regardless, he is closing the season on a decent note. In five starts totaling 26.2 innings in September, Giolito had a 3.71 ERA, 3.36 xFIP, 1.35 WHIP and 27.0 K%.
Giolito's strikeout ability is what makes him appealing in tournaments. Additionally, the White Sox are -130, and the game's total is 7.5 runs. So, the betting info is good, too. Giolito is a risky selection but has ample upside for paying off.
Top Lineup Stacks
Cole Irvin is a mediocre pitcher. He's also overachieved. The lefty has had a 4.11 ERA, 4.33 xFIP and 4.47 xERA in 29 starts this year. Irvin has also done a poor job of striking hitters out, owning a below-average 17.2 K%. Irvin has also been in a funk to close the season, allowing at least three runs in eight of his last nine turns. As a result, the Angels' top-heavy lineup has immense DFS allure.
- Road (Oriole Park at Camden Yards)
- Value: Low
- Risk: Low
- Game Type: Both
- Game Total/Moneyline: 7.5 Runs/TOR -115
The Blue Jays have a tasty matchup with overwhelmed righty Mike Baumann. Baltimore's 27-year-old righty has a 4.34 ERA and 4.78 xERA in 12 appearances (three starts) in 2022 for the Orioles. Conversely, Toronto's offense is elite. They're second in wRC+ (118) against right-handed pitchers this season. So, Toronto is an exciting stack tonight.
- Mike Trout is a lefty-killer. Since 2020, he's had a .408 OBP, .239 ISO and 156 wRC+ against southpaws.
- Luis Rengifo is a screaming value at FD. Since 2020, he's had a stellar 112 wRC+ against lefties.
- George Springer has raked against fellow righties. Since last year, he's had a .343 OBP, .240 ISO and 136 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers.
- J.D. Davis has been outstanding with the Giants. In 145 plate appearances for them, he's clubbed eight homers with a .379 OBP, .254 ISO and 159 wRC+.
- Gunnar Henderson has a 119 wRC+ through his first 126 plate appearances in The Show.
- Chas McCormick has roughed up southpaws for a .360 OBP, .237 ISO and 147 wRC+ in 200 plate appearances against them in his career.
Tuesday's Hitter Strategy
The Angels and Blue Jays are attractive sources of offense tonight. Still, Davis, Henderson and McCormick are helpful punts as one-off picks.
