Cash Game Recommendations:
Brandon Woodruff (MIL) vs. ARI
Woodruff has been lights out lately. He's had double-digit strikeouts in his last four starts, allowing two or fewer runs. Moreover, Woodruff has been an unstoppable force at home.
According to FanGraphs, in 72.2 innings at home this year, Woodruff has a 1.98 ERA, 2.29 xFIP, 0.85 WHIP, 4.7 BB% and 35.8 K%. Finally, the betting info is dreamy. According to Betting Pros, the Brewers are -235, and the game's total is just 7.0 runs.
Patrick Sandoval (LAA) at OAK
Sandoval also has tasty betting info tonight. The Angels are -180, and the game's total is 7.0 runs. Further, he's been locked in. In Sandoval's last nine starts spanning 53.0 innings, he's had a 2.04 ERA, 3.58 xFIP, 1.13 WHIP and 22.7 K%.
The matchup is awesome, too. The Athletics are 26th in wRC+ (85) against southpaws. Oakland has also struggled mightily against Sandoval in three starts this year, mustering only five runs in 19 innings. So, Sandoval should get the better of them again tonight.
GPP Recommendations:
George Kirby (SEA) vs. DET
Kirby has excelled at home in his rookie campaign. In 67.1 innings, he's had a 2.94 ERA, 3.03 xFIP, 1.16 WHIP, 2.5 BB% and 26.0 K%. The rookie righty should add to his sterling numbers tonight in a cushy matchup.
The Tigers are dead last in wRC+ (74) against righties this year. They've also struck out at an exploitable 24.7% rate. Finally, the Mariners are -250, and the game's total is only 7.0 runs.
Bailey Ober (MIN) at CWS
Ober has overachieved this year. Still, he's done an exceptional job of limiting free passes. Ober has had a 4.5 BB% in his last three starts. Ober has also had a juicy 27.3 K% and 32.1 CSW% in those starts.
In addition, Ober dominated the White Sox in his last start. He held them scoreless on two hits, one walk and 10 strikeouts in 7.1 innings. Ober also held the Pale Hose to one run on five hits, zero walks and six strikeouts on April 22. Finally, the White Sox have been an outstanding matchup for righties, in general, this year, tying for 22nd in wRC+ (93) against them in 2022.
Top Lineup Stacks
Jose Berrios has been one of the biggest underachievers on the hill this year. He's had a grotesque 5.37 ERA, validated by a nearly equally ugly 5.22 xERA. The righty has also been homer-prone, coughing up 1.57 HR/9. In addition, Berrios is stumbling to the end of the season, sporting a 6.27 ERA in his last 10 starts. So, Baltimore's offense has a drool-inducing matchup in which they can light up the scoreboard.
- Road (Fenway Park)
- Value: Low(DK)/Medium(FD)
- Risk: Low
- Game Type: Both
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.0 Runs/TB -136
The Rays also have a fantastic matchup tonight. Rich Hill has been a trainwreck in his hitter-friendly home park. The veteran lefty has been clobbered for a 5.19 ERA in 52.0 innings at Fenway Park this season. Additionally, the Rays have knocked lefties around for a 109 wRC+ this season.
- Adley Rutschman has a sky-high ceiling tonight. The rookie catcher has a .381 OBP, .226 ISO and 153 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers this season.
- Randy Arozarena is a lefty-killer. In his career, he's had a .389 OBP, .260 ISO and 168 wRC+.
- Gunnar Henderson has seamlessly transitioned to the majors. He's hit four dongs with a .341 OBP and 125 wRC+ in 123 plate appearances for the Orioles.
- Nick Gordon has done well with the platoon advantage this year. He's had a 126 wRC+ in 339 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers.
- Isaac Paredes has been a sweet power source in his first year with the Rays, mashing 20 taters with a .237 ISO.
Monday's Hitter Strategy
Baltimore and Tampa Bay are the best sources of offense tonight. Further, they have a mix of high-salaried talent and values.
