Here’s what I’m taking away from what Dr. Deepak Chona said on the Week 7 Sunday night recap show.
- WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion) – Left game in the 1st quarter. Over 7 days, should miss a week.
- TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) – Was carted off the field after being poked in the eye. Status TBD.
- TE David Njoku ruled out (ankle) – On crutches after the game. Multi-week injury. High ankle sprain potentially.
- TE Pharaoh Brown (concussion) – Harrison Bryant could see uptick as Browns healthiest tight end remaining.
- RB Chuba Hubbard (ankle) – Injured in the 4th quarter. If out on Thursday practice, most likely a high ankle sprain, setting up D’Onta Foreman to be a workhorse.
- WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) – Sprain or labrum injury. WRs play through it mostly.
- WR DK Metcalf (knee) – Being carted into the locker room. Did not return. Potential ACL injury.
- WR Russell Gage (hamstring) – Dealing with this off-and-on all year.
- WR Corey Davis (leg) – went to locker room. MCL sprain.
- RB Breece Hall (knee) – left game with knee injury. Robert Saleh said post game likely an ACL injury. Not good. Likely out rest of season.
- WR Nico Collins (groin injury) – left in 1st half. Ruled out shortly after.
- RB Mike Boone (ankle) – Left game and did not return with ankle injury
Other notable injuries:
- OT Evan Neal (knee) ruled out rest of the game by Giants
- Giants guard Ben Bredeson (knee) ruled out vs. Jaguars
- Bengals OT La’el Collins is questionable to return with a left ankle injury.
- Falcons’ CB A.J. Terrell suffers hamstring injury; out for remainder of game
- Buccaneers ruled out S Antoine Winfield Jr. for the remainder of the game after being evaluated for a concussion.
- CB J.C. Jackson carted off field vs. Seahawks with knee injury
Fantasy Headlines
QB: Joe Burrow Buries Atlanta Falcons
I ranked Joe Burrow as my No. 2 QB this week because all the signs pointed to him having a massive outing. Falcons defense was getting shredded by shotgun formations all season. And we saw that play out in Week 7, when Burrow surpassed 300 yards in the 1st half alone. 481 total passing yards and 3 passing TDs (2 to Ja’Marr Chase) with another rushing score. Burrow’s not only won fantasy managers weeks, he helped Chase, Tyler Boyd, Hayden Hurst and Joe Mixon get there.
RB: Josh Jacobs Jingleheimer Schmidt…He is a top-3 fantasy RB.
Josh McDaniels is running Josh Jacobs into the ground. He’s a free agent at the end of the season. His production…can’t stop and won’t stop. In Week 7, the Jacobs vs the world tour continued with him rushing 20 times for 143 yards and 3 TDs. Zamir White has one carry. Jacobs also added 3 catches for 12 yards on 4 targets. All in all, 23 touches, 89% opportunity share, 3 TDs and 155 yards on offense. A solid day at the office.
WR: Parris Campbell‘s Smoking French Onion Soup
It’s never been a lack of talent that has held back by Parris Campbell. It’s been the injuries. But now that he is healthy, we are seeing the Ohio State product finally ball out. After seeing double-digit targets last week, he earned 12 targets for 10 receptions and 70 receiving yards and one TD. With the Colts going all-in on a short dropback quick passing game, Campbell will continue to feast.
WR: It’s not Hard to win man, with a Mecole Hat trick.
3 TD scores for Mecole Hardman on just six touches – 2 carries, 4 catches – for 50 yards. It’s definitely a trick and not a long treat that fantasy managers should be chasing off the waiver wire. Every single week, it’s a different Chief that blows up more often than not.
TE: David Njoku, Say it ain’t say so.
A consensus sleeper between myself DBro and Matthew Freedman, David Njoku has been one of my biggest hits in 2022. And in Week 7 he started great with 7 catches for 71 yards. However, he left the game with an ankle injury. Hoping the injury is not serious, but very concerned this could hurt his performance down the stretch.
Quick Game-by-Game Observations & Takeaways
Sunday Early Afternoon Slate
Game 1 – Buccaneers at Panthers
Fantasy takeaway: DJ Moore got 10 targets (48% target share) 69 yards and a TD!!!! YLTSI.
Other notes:
- D’Onta Foreman: 15-118-0 rushing (55% opportunity share) Chuba Hubbard: 9-63-1 rushing. Hubbard saw three targets to Foreman’s two, but left in the 4th quarter with an ankle injury. The former looked like the starter with 7 carries for 33 yards in 1st half. Foreman had two carries but also two 1st-half catches. And that was because he was playing downs during the 2-minute drill.
- Mike Evans: 9-96-0 on 15 targets, dropped long TD early. Brutal. Basically foreshadowed entire Buccaneers day on offense.
- Chris Godwin: 7-43-0 on 13 targets. Cade Otton had more receiving yards (64) on just 5 targets.
- Leonard Fournette with just 10 touches to Rachaad White‘s 7. Lenny with just 19 rushing yards and 3 targets (6% target share).

Other notes:
- Brian Robinson 20-73-0 rushing, 2-13-0 receiving. Overall 22 touches and 56% opportunity share.
- Antonio Gibson 10-59-0 rushing. 3-18-1 receiving

Game 8 – Texans at Raiders
Fantasy takeaway: Josh Jacobs is a top-3 fantasy RB. Josh McDaniels is running Jacobs into the ground. He’s a free agent at the end of the season. His production…can’t stop and won’t stop. In Week 7, the Jacobs vs the world revenge tour continued with him rushing 20 times for 143 yards and 3 TDs. Zamir White has one carry. Jacobs also added 3 catches for 12 yards on 4 targets. All in all, 23 touches, 89% opportunity share, 3 TDs and 155 yards on offense. A solid day at the office.
Other notes:
- Davante Adams with nine targets, 8-95 on a 35% target share
- Hunter Renfrow just three targets without Darren Waller. Same for Mack Hollins, who also scored. No.2 tight end Foster Moreau second on the team with 5 targets.
- Dameon Pierce with 20 carries for 92 yards, also added four catches for 25 yards. The rushing volume is going to be there every week with the rookie, but the receiving usage is encouraging. Although it’s probably never going to be elite…with the likes of Rex Burkhead (6 targets, 5 catches for 11 yards) and Dare Ogunbowale (7 targets, 5 catches for 54 yards) involved as pass-catchers out of the backfield.
- Brandin Cooks disappointed with just four catches for 46 yards on 5 targets. Nico Collins left with an injury.

Fantasy takeaway: Jerry Jeudy earned the targets last week and doubled-down with Brett Rypien at QB. 7 catches for 96 yards on a team-high 11 targets. Courtland Sutton was targeted nine times, but he caught just 3 for 23 yards.
Other notes:
- Breece Hall left with an injury but not before rushing for 72 yards and 1 TD on just 4 carries.
- Michael Carter came in relief, handled 15 touches for 74 yards. 2 for 45 through the air.
- Tyler Conklin led with six targets, followed by Garrett Wilson (5) and Braxton Berrios (4). Corey Davis left game with injury.
- Rookie tight end Greg Dulcich turned his elite usage last week into production: 6-51 on nine targets. He can be trusted weekly if you need a tight end.
- Melvin Gordon (11 carries) and Latavius Murray (8 carries) split carries and touches after Mike Boone got hurt. Gordon earned more targets (4 vs 3) and seems to still be the “starter”.

Other notes:
- Austin Ekeler totaled just 9 carries for 31 yards and rushing TD, but he continues to destroy as a receiver. 12-for-12 for 96 yards and 1 score. Sony Michel and Isaiah Spiller combined for 6 backfield opportunities.
- Mike Williams led the WRs with 9 targets catching 7 for 86 and 1 TD. But he left game with an injury. Gerald Everett also had 9 targets.
- Keenan Allen in his 1st game back just 2 for 11 on 2 targets. DeAndre Carter (7) and Michael Bandy (6) had more targets.

Other notes:
- Isiah Pacheco earned just a 40% opportunity share in the Chiefs backfield. He led the team in carries (8) and rushing yards (43), but Clyde Edwards-Helaire scored on 1 of his 6 carries. Neither caught any passes. Jerick McKinnon caught 2-of-3 targets for 36 yards.
- 3 TD scores for Mecole Hardman on just six touches – 2 carries, 4 catches – for 50 yards. It’s definitely a trick and not a long treat that fantasy managers should be chasing off the waiver wire. Every single week, it’s a different Chief that blows up more often than not. Although it is notable that Hardman led the Chiefs WRs in snaps played for the first time all season.
- Brandon Aiyuk led the 49ers in targets (11) 7 for 82, followed by George Kittle (9) 6 for 98 and then Deebo Samuel (7) 5 for 42.
- Christian McCaffrey totaled 10 touches in his 49ers debut with 8 carries for 38 yards and 2 catches for 24 yards. Out-touched Jeff Wilson (7 carries for 54 yards) with a 38% opportunity share on a limited snap count.

Other notes:
- Tyreek Hill led (again) with 13 targets (37% target share) for 72 receiving yards. Jaylen Waddle saw fewer targets (5) but caught four for 88 yards. 22 yards per catch.
- Mike Gesicki saw volume with 7 targets, but just 3-for-27.
- Diontae Johnson did is typical thing: 10 targets (24% target share) but horrible efficiency. 5 catches for 42 yards.
- George Pickens led the Steelers WRs in yards (61) catching all six of his targets with one receiving TD.
