Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Russell Wilson ‘dinged up’ shoulder on Sunday

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, QB Russell Wilson “dinged up” his shoulder during his Week 4 game and will be limited in practice ahead of TNF in Week 5. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Concerns for Wilson’s injury probably shouldn’t be too high if he is still expected to play on a short week on Thursday night. His limited practice is likely just to help him rest and heal during a quick turnaround. Facing the Colts who are only allowing just over 20 points per game, though, a slow-starting Broncos offense should still have tempered expectations coming off a season-high 23-point performance against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Rashod Bateman (foot) viewed as day-to-day

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced that Rashod Bateman is day-to-day with a foot injury that he doesn’t believe is serious. (Source: Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Bateman was reportedly dealing with this injury a bit in Week 4, which could have accounted for some of his disappointing fantasy output. It looks like the wideout will likely spend time on the injury report throughout the week, but isn’t in danger of missing an extended period of time. His Week 5 status, however, is far from confirmed.

Jahan Dotson (hamstring) expected to miss 1-to-2 weeks

Jahan Dotson is dealing with a hamstring injury that will likely leave him out for 1-to-2 weeks, according to head coach Ron Rivera. (Source: Ari Meirov on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Dotson left Washington’s Week 4 matchup in the fourth quarter with this injury, and it looks like it will force him to miss some time. The wideout was one of Carson Wentz’s favorite red zone targets through the first few weeks of the season, so this could open up more touchdown opportunities for Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel or Logan Thomas. With the rookie wideout out, those three options should see an increased target share while Cam Sims may see the field a bit more.

Brian Robinson Jr. medically cleared, could be activated soon

Brian Robinson Jr. has been medically cleared and will be activated from the injured list at some point in the next three weeks, according to head coach Ron Rivera. (Source: Nicki Jhabvala on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The exact words used by Rivera were that Robinson will “start his clock” to be activated, which can last up to three weeks. Earlier reports signal that his return could come earlier than that mark, but that remains to be seen. The running back dominated training camp before sustaining two gunshot wounds in late August, and depending on the timeline, he could have an immediate role in the offense upon his return. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats.
