Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Dalton Schultz reaggravated PCL injury in Week 5 win
Dalton Schultz reaggravated his sprained PCL in the Cowboys’ Week 5 win over the Rams. Schultz did not suffer a new injury or additional damage. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Schultz will need to avoid any setbacks this week to be able to suit up in an important divisional matchup with the Eagles. With the Cowboys’ offense focusing on running the ball and game management, Schultz should not be viewed as a starting option until Dak Prescott returns.
Russell Wilson ‘should be ready to play’ in Week 6
Russell Wilson, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury, is expected to be good to go on Monday against the Chargers, according to Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett. (Source: Kyle Newman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Wilson has had serious struggles to start the season and now is dealing with a shoulder injury on his throwing shoulder. As poor as Wilson has been to start the season, the Broncos’ offense would be seriously damaged if he were to miss time. The expectation is that Russ should be ready to go on Monday, but if he is not his usual self that could spell trouble for his fantasy stock as well as the Broncos’ other fantasy weapons.
Baker Mayfield (ankle) considered ‘day-to-day’ moving forward
Baker Mayfield, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the Panther’s Week 5 loss, is considered day-to-day as it will come down to his pain tolerance. (Source: Mike Kaye on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Mayfield played the entire second half with his injury, so it will mainly be a pain tolerance issue as to whether or not he will play. The reports are that his injury is typically a multi-week injury, but Mayfield has a history of playing through pain. If Mayfield is unable to play Sunday, which seems like a strong possibility in Week 6, P.J. Walker will be in line to suit up for the Panthers.
Damien Harris (hamstring) likely to miss multiple games
Damien Harris is likely to miss multiple games after suffering a hamstring injury against Detroit in Week 5. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Harris is still getting tests done but the team expects to be without Harris for the next few games. Fantasy managers should expect Rhamondre Stevenson to see the bulk of the carries in the Patriots’ backfield until Harris returns. If Harris is on your roster and you have an available IR spot, go ahead and place him there until he returns and works his way back into the offense.
