Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Rashaad Penny diagnosed with a fractured tibia Sunday

Rashaad Penny, who was carted to the locker room late in Week 5, has been diagnosed with a fractured tibia. Ian Rapoport reports that the back will potentially be facing season-ending surgery. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Penny, who was a first-round pick in 2018, has dealt with injuries throughout his entire career. He was finally given the opportunity to lead the Seahawk’s backfield this year, but it seems that he will miss significant time, if not the entire season. In his absence, rookie Kenneth Walker will likely see an increased role.

Tyreek Hill wearing a walking boot, ‘stepped on late’ in Dolphins’ loss

Tyreek Hill, who was questionable coming into Week 5 with a groin injury, was seen wearing a walking boot on his left foot after being apparently stepped on late in the Dolphins’ loss. (Source: Marcel Louis-Jacques on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Hill wearing a walking boot is obviously a significant development for the star WR. There has yet to be an official diagnosis for Hill, but fantasy managers should be concerned about his availability in Week 6. Unless more news is put out, we will have to wait to see the Dolphins’ initial injury report Wednesday to get a clearer picture of Hill’s status moving forward.

Michael Thomas (foot) likely to be able return for Week 6

Saints WR Michael Thomas, who was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks due to a foot injury, is likely to be able return for next week’s game against the Bengals. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Thomas has now missed back-to-back games with a foot injury. Now with WR Chris Olave suffering a concussion Sunday and WR Jarvis Landry still battling his own injury, Thomas’ return would be a big one for both the Saints and fantasy managers.

Tee Higgins (ankle) exits with injury

Fantasy Impact: Higgins came into the week dealing with an ankle injury and it appears that was aggravated during the game. Higgins is officially questionable but was shown on the bench without his helmet coming out of halftime. We will update you here if his status changes.
