Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Tyler Lockett (hamstring) expected to play Sunday against the Chargers

Tyler Lockett, who was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, was thought to be likely to play and this latest news from Adam Schefter on Twitter confirms the veteran WR is on track to suit up. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Lockett has had a fine start to the 2022 season, helped by the standout play of QB Geno Smith. Lockett faces a tough matchup against a very talented Charger’s secondary Sunday, but Lockett is a fine WR2 option based on the consistent volume he has seen. Fantasy managers should start Lockett with the expectation he will be playing without limitation on Sunday.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) to be a game-time decision Sunday

Keenan Allen “wants to see how he feels before making a final decision,” according to Adam Schefter. However, Schefter notes that with the Chargers’ bye week imminent the team may err on the side of caution with their star wideout, putting his status for Week 7 very much in doubt. Fantasy Impact: Allen has been dealing with a hamstring injury since Week 1, and fantasy managers may have to wait until after the Chargers’ bye week to plug the veteran wide receiver back into their lineups. Schefter’s tweet indicates that Allen might play, but if there is no official announcement made before the one o’clock EST games kick-off, fantasy managers may have to have a backup option ready. If Allen does manage to play he is a fine flex play in a nice matchup against Seatt

Mark Andrews (knee) expected to play Week 7

Ravens’ TE Mark Andrews, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a knee injury, is expected to play vs. the Browns, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Andrews was listed as questionable, but the expectation heading into the weekend was that he was good to go for Week 7 vs. the Browns. And while this report isn’t official, it sure seems like he’ll suit up. Through six games, Andrews has caught 39 of his 57 targets for 455 yards and five touchdowns.

D’Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder) not expected to play Sunday

Fantasy Impact: Swift was initially listed as questionable to play, but the team doesn’t want to rush him back and he won’t play in Week 7. There was optimism around the fantasy community that he would be good to go after Detroit’s bye week, but managers will likely have to find a replacement for the young stud for at least one more week. Jamaal Williams should see the bulk of the work in Detroit’s backfield in Swift’s absence.
