Fantasy Football Injury Updates

James Conner (ribs) did not practice Thursday

Fantasy Impact: Conner has been given an extension this offseason and with Chase Edmonds departing for Miami the expectation was that Conner would receive the heavy workload he did while Edmonds missed time in 2021. That had not been the case and TD regression has hit Conner pretty hard, and now he will miss time with a rib injury. Darrel Wiliams’s (knee) status for Sunday’s game is also in doubt, opening the door for Eno Benjamin to see a heavy workload against the Seahawks if Conner is not ready to go.

Tee Higgins (ankle) ‘not in uniform’ in Thursday’s practice

Fantasy Impact: Higgins has had an excellent start to the season, but he reaggravated an ankle injury in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens that forced him to miss the final three quarters. Whether or not Higgins practices Friday should give fantasy managers a clearer picture as to whether or not they should expect him to suit up Sunday. If Higgins is good to go he should be in any starting lineups across all formats, should he miss time Michael Thomas could continue to see a lot more action alongside Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd.

Rashod Bateman (foot) not practicing Thursday

Fantasy Impact: Bateman was electric to start the season racking up the big plays from Lamar Jackson, but he suffered a foot injury during the Raven’s Week 4 loss to the Bills and has yet to practice since. If Bateman does not log any practice time on Friday fantasy managers may have to expect him to miss Sunday’s game against the Giants. If Bateman does miss Sunday’s game, Devin Duvernay will once again see an increased workload.

Jonathan Taylor (ankle) ‘returned to practice’ Thursday

Fantasy Impact: Taylor practicing in any capacity Thursday is a good sign that the third-year all-pro back could get back on the field in Week 6. Taylor had a couple of poor weeks before his injury, but if he is good to go in Week 6 it is a nice spot for him to bounce back at home against the Jaguar’s defense. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Taylor’s status as Sunday approaches, but it is reasonable to start to feel optimistic he will suit up on Sunday.
