Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Aaron Rodgers (thumb) sidelined Wednesday, Packers not concerned

Packers’ HC Matt LaFleur told reporters that QB Aaron Rodgers will not practice Wednesday due to a thumb injury. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: LaFleur added, “We don’t have much concern as far as gameday.” It sounds like Rodgers is a little banged up, but he should return to practice soon.

Fantasy Impact: While Colts’ head coach Frank Reich previously reported he was “optimistic” Taylor would play this Sunday, the week is not off to an ideal start. Taylor was, however, spotted off to the side getting some individual work in with a trainer. Fantasy managers would like to see Taylor get at least a limited practice in on Thursday to feel good about his chances of suiting up for Week 6.

James Conner dealing with rib issue

According to Ian Rapoport on Twitter, Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner is dealing with a rib issue, and his status for Week 6 will not be known until later this week. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Conner left Sunday’s game with a rib injury and is expected to miss Wednesday’s practice. Darrel Williams is expected to miss multiple weeks with an injury of his own, so Eno Benjamin should get lead back duties for Week 6. With third-string back Jonathan Ward being sent to IR, Arizona signed Ty’Son Williams and Corey Clement to the practice squad. If Conner misses time, one or both could join Keontay Ingram in the mix to back up Eno.

Tua Tagovailoa officially ruled out for Week 6

According to Ari Meirov of PFF, QB Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. (Source: Ari Meirov on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Tagovailoa missed Week 5 after a scary injury in Week 6 that caused the league to re-evaluate its concussion protocol. While Tagovailoa has progressed, he’s not yet ready to play and could still be a couple of weeks away as he remains in concussion protocol. QB Skylar Thompson is slated to start for Miami in the mean time.
