Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Javonte Williams to miss rest of 2022 season with torn ACL

Javonte Williams suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Williams left Sunday’s game with a knee injury and was quickly ruled out, which is rarely a good sign. The Broncos were reportedly bracing for bad news on Sunday night, and an MRI on Monday morning confirmed a torn ACL. He will miss the rest of the 2022 season. With Williams out, look for Melvin Gordon to lead the backfield in snaps and touches while Mike Boone plays a larger role. The Broncos will add reinforcements in the coming days, but whoever they add will likely just be for depth.

Jamison Crowder suffers broken ankle in Week 4, out indefinitely

Jamison Crowder has reportedly suffered a broken ankle in Buffalo’s comeback victory in Week 4 and is out indefinitely according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Crowder will undergo further testing to reveal the extent of any other damage to his ankle in the coming days. Fantasy managers should stash him on the IR if they have the ability but if not he can be safely cut. The Bills receiving room is becoming a MASH unit with Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) also leaving in Week 4, Jake Kumerow (ankle) inactive in Week 4, and Gabe Davis missing Weeks 2 and 3 with an ankle injury. Stefon Diggs, Davis, and Khalil Shakir (rookie out of Boise State) are the only three Buffalo wide receivers on track to suit up in Week 5 at the moment. Shakir could make for an interesting flier in DFS lineups if McKenzie and Kumerow are unable to suit up. It more likely means double digits each for Diggs and Davis against the Steelers.

Kenny Golladay dealing with a knee injury

Fantasy Impact: Golladay only logged one target during the Giants’ win over the Bears Sunday. The 28-year-old has only registered two receptions for 22 yards this season. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable moving on from the veteran wide receiver.

Daniel Jones considered day-to-day with ankle injury

Daniel Jones is considered day-to-day after leaving Sunday’s win with an ankle injury. He will continue to have tests on his ankle but there is optimism that he will be able to play in Week 5. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: Jones completed eight of his 13 pass attempts for 71 yards, while adding 68 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Jones injured his ankle and was replaced by Tyrod Taylor, but was eventually forced to go back into the game when Taylor was diagnosed with a concussion. The Giants travel to London for a game against Green Bay in Week 5.
