Fantasy Football Injury Updates

James Connor (ribs) doesn’t practice Monday

Fantasy Impact: Connor is dealing with a rib injury that forced him to miss Week 6, and there doesn’t seem to be much optimism for his availability in Week 7 coming off of a short week. He is considered week-to-week for the time being, and if he misses Thursday’s game, Eno Benjamin (foot) should get the start in his place again.

Carson Wentz given four-week recovery timeline

Fantasy Impact: Wentz is dealing with a fractured ring finger he suffered during the Commanders’ Week 6 game on Thursday. Washington could decide to place Wentz on IR considering he is looking at a four-week recovery timeline based on the information from the doctor doing the procedure. The Commanders are likely going to turn the reins over to Taylor Heinicke, but they also could play rookie Sam Howell to see what they have in what is likely a lost season for Washington.

Tua Tagovailoa to start in Week 7

Tua Tagovailoa will be the starting quarterback for the Dolphins in Week 7 against the Steelers, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. (Source: Joe Schad on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: After a scary concussion that left him out for a couple of weeks, Tagovailoa will make his return to the field on Sunday night against Pittsburgh. The quarterback was a solid fantasy option before his injury, and there’s no reason to think he won’t be able to produce right away. On top of this, wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will see a significant increase in fantasy value with their QB1 back under center.

Jarvis Landry (ankle) not expected to play in Week 7

Saints do not expect to have WR Jarvis Landry back in time for the Cardinals game on Thursday night. (Source: Jeff Duncan on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Landry, like Michael Thomas (foot), is not expected to play Thursday night against the Cardinals. Chris Olave should lead the receiving corps in Week 7 after missing Week 6 with a concussion. Meanwhile, Landry can be dropped in redraft leagues with benches smaller than six.
