Fantasy Football Injury Updates

James Connor (ribs) limited in practice Thursday

James Connor (ribs) was a limited participant in practice Thursday ahead of Arizona’s Week 8 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Impact

Connor has been sidelined for the past few weeks thanks to a rib injury he’s been battling. He’s making positive steps in his recovery, however, having returned to practice Wednesday. He is still limited in practice, and his status for Sunday remains up in the air for the time being.

Rashod Bateman (foot) out for the remainder of the game

Rashod Bateman (foot) has been ruled out for the remainder of the game against Tampa Bay.

Fantasy Impact

Bateman came into the week dealing with a foot injury that has bothered him for weeks. Bateman was listed as questionable heading into Thursday night and only saw one target before exiting the game. Fantasy managers will want to monitor his status heading into Week 9.

Gus Edwards runs for 65 yards, leaves with hamstring issue

Gus Edwards carried the ball 11 times for 65 yards in a 27-22 win over the Buccaneers in Week 8.

Fantasy Impact

Edwards did not receive a carry on the team’s first drive of the game, sparking some concern among fantasy managers, but he still wound up leading the Ravens in carries. He did leave the game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return to action. The Ravens will play again in Week 9’s Monday night game against the Saints, giving Edwards plenty of time to get better. If he isn’t ready for that game, look for plenty of Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill in the Baltimore backfield.

Mark Andrews’ shoulder injury not expected to be serious

Mark Andrews left his team’s 27-22 win over the Buccaneers with a shoulder injury during the second quarter and did not return. He caught three of five targets for 33 yards before the injury.

Fantasy Impact

Andrews was off to a great start but unfortunately did not return to action after the injury. For what it’s worth, head coach John Harbaugh told reporters after the game that Andrews’ shoulder injury was not serious. The Ravens do not play again until the Week 9 Monday Night Football game, so Andrews has some extra time to heal up. Rookie Isaiah Likely would see increased opportunity if Andrews ends up missing time.
