Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Ja’Marr Chase out 4-6 weeks, could go on IR
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, WR Ja’Marr Chase is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a hip injury that could send him to injured reserve.
Fantasy Impact
According to Schefter, Chase visited with a hip specialist on Wednesday to seek more answers about his hip. This injury will catapult WRs Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd for more production as many targets will be open for the rest of the team. Chase has 605 yards and six touchdowns on the season and will be a tough loss for the Bengals who hope for his return for a late-season run.
Allen Lazard (shoulder) absent from practice again Thursday
Allen Lazard (shoulder) remained sidelined at Thursday’s practice, putting his availability for Sunday in question.
Fantasy Impact
It’s not looking great for Lazard to suit up against the Bills on Sunday night, but there’s still a chance, so keep monitoring the updates. If Lazard misses the game, it could mean more targets for Romeo Doubs or maybe Christian Watson, who has a chance to return from his hamstring injury.
Ezekiel Elliott (knee) misses second practice
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, RB Ezekiel Elliott missed his second consecutive practice for the Dallas Cowboys due to his knee injury suffered against Detroit.
Fantasy Impact
Elliott left the game against Detroit with a knee injury but returned before scoring his second touchdown of the game. Elliott has only missed three games in his seven-year career, and he said himself that he will be playing if he’s physically able. His status at practice on Friday will be important in whether or not he plays on Sunday. Against the Chicago Bears, if Elliott misses, RB Tony Pollard likely becomes an RB2 option.
Michael Thomas (foot) misses practice again on Thursday
Michael Thomas (foot) missed practice again on Thursday and seems unlikely to play this Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Thomas has missed four straight games and appears destined to miss a fifth. He hasn’t practiced at all, and given his history with injuries, it’s hard to say when he’ll be back. Marquez Callaway and Tre’Quan Smith should again see a healthy dose of snaps in a good matchup with the Raiders this week.
