Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Deebo Samuel (hamstring) considered day-to-day
Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is considered day-to-day ahead of the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Fantasy Impact
Samuel is dealing with a hamstring strain that he likely sustained in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Chiefs. The injury isn’t considered severe, and the veteran receiver is considered day-to-day for the time being. If he has to miss any time, Brando Aiyuk and Ray-Ray McCloud would be the key fantasy beneficiaries of his absence.
Daniel Bellinger (eye) to undergo surgery; out indefinitely
Daniel Bellinger (eye) will underdo surgery on a fractured eye socket and is out indefinitely.
Fantasy Impact
Bellinger left Sunday’ game early with an eye injury, and it now has turned out to be pretty serious. He will need surgery to help repair the damage, and there’s a chance he doesn’t play again this season. Backup tight end Tanner Hudson looks to be in next in line for the Giants as long as Bellinger is out.
DK Metcalf suffers patellar tendon injury
According to Ari Meirov of PFF, WR DK Metcalf suffered a patellar tendon injury that won’t require surgery, a relief to the Seahawks that it wasn’t worse.
Fantasy Impact
Coach Pete Carroll said that Metcalf hopes to return to practice Wednesday, though Carroll is doubtful of that. Metcalf currently has no timetable, but he wants to return as soon as possible. Metcalf will likely miss some time, but no timeframe is for certain right now, though Carroll said he got back a “great report.”
Corey Davis (MCL) believed to have suffered sprain on Sunday
Initial indications are that Corey Davis suffered an MCL sprain against the Broncos on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Head coach Robert Saleh relayed that he does not expect the injury to keep Davis out for an extended period. It sounds like the injury was mild enough that Davis could be back as soon as this week. His practice status will need to be monitored leading up to the Week 8 divisional showdown with New England.
