Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Mike Williams (ankle) out at least 4 weeks

Mike Williams is expected to miss at least 4 weeks due to his high-ankle sprain.

Fantasy Impact

This is a tough blow for Williams who has had a very productive season so far. The Chargers have a bye in Week 8 anyway, so Williams may only need to miss 3 games and return in Week 12 against the Cardinals. The Chargers don’t have many healthy receivers left, with Keenan Allen and Joshua Palmer battling injuries as well. DeAndre Carter and Gerald Everett could be in line for more opportunities depending on how things shake out.

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) doesn’t practice Wednesday

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) was a non-participant at San Francisco’s practice Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Samuel is nursing a hamstring strain that he presumably sustained in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Chiefs. His status for Sunday is up in the air right now, but if he doesn’t log a practice on Thursday, he likely won’t play Sunday. Fantasy managers can look for Brandon Aiyuk and Ray-Ray McCloud to see additional targets if Samuel can’t go Sunday.

James Conner (ribs) returns to practice Wednesday

James Conner returned to Cardinals practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Conner has missed the last two weeks. Darrel Williams, who also missed the last two weeks returned to practice. Eno Benjamin can be dropped if Conner and Williams are both healthy.

Allen Lazard (shoulder) sidelined Wednesday

Allen Lazard was sidelined at Packers practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Lazard left this past week’s game early due to the injury. His status will be worth monitoring as the week progresses at practice. The Packers wide receiver room is already light as it is, so the loss of Lazard would be huge.
